“See you soon.” Jeremiah hung up and turned to Remi. “You’re coming with me, right?”
“There’s no way in hell I’d let you go alone. Is he okay?” Remi asked as he hopped to his feet.
Jeremiah glanced back at the raging fire on the TV, then shrugged. “I don’t know. But we’re going to figure it out when we get there. I hope you’re ready, little princeling. Something tells me this is just the start.”
Remi smiled, then kissed him before turning off the news coverage. He tossed the remote onto the couch and cupped Jeremiah’s face. “This is the rest of our lives.”
Our lives.
Him and his mate.
He liked the sound of that. Jeremiah wrapped his arms around Remi and held him tight, kissing him back deeply. Despite everything else, when he held Remi, the world just felt right for the first time in his life.
And he’d never let that go.
