“Geez. Awful pushy—”

My hand tangles in her hair while the other grabs her ass, pulling her so hard against me that she squeals against my lips. My mouth moves with hers, drowning out the sound. She surrenders to me, her arms winding around my neck.

I finally let her up for air, staring down at her beautiful face, illuminated by desire. Long lashes slowly part, revealing dazed mocha irises.

“Wow. Maybe I should choke and punch a bitch more often.”

I chuckle, rubbing my hard dick against her core. “I won’t lie. That was fucking hot.” My hand squeezes her ass. “But I have a question.”

“You wanna know how I knew what Jenna was doing and where I got the video.”

“Nope. I don’t give a shit. It was brilliant and well-played.”

She cocks her head, confusion drawing her brows together. “Then what do you wanna know?”

“You saw her kissing me and almost ran away, didn’t you? You thought I enjoyed it since I didn’t instantly pull away.”

She swallows hard, her cheeks flaming as she nods. “Yes.”

“Why don’t you believe you’re the only woman I want?”

She huffs out a breath. “Two reasons. One is my past. But the biggest reason…” Her hands tighten on my shirt, fisting it like she’s afraid I’ll leave. “When you can have any woman in this world, why me?”

My hand slides to her face, my thumb caressing her cheek. “Because you’re everything, Lexi. There’s no one in this world like you.” I lean forward, giving her a gentle kiss on the lips. “If I have to spend every day of my life proving that to you, so be it.”

Lexi’s mocha eyes sparkle, a slow smile curling her lips. “I’m good with that.”

I chuckle, staring down at the only woman I’ve ever loved, and will love for an eternity. “I know you have issues from your past that make you insecure. But Lexi, I’m not going anywhere unless it’s withyou.”

Tears fill her eyes. “I love you, Evan.”

I lift her off her feet, making her giggle. “I love you with all of me, bellissima.” Then my lips meet hers, sealing the promise with a kiss.

“Make no mistake,” I set her on her feet. “You’re gonna be punished for trying to run away. I already warned you not to try it. You stay. We fight and then fuck.”

Her brows draw in, and she holds up a hand. “Wait a minute. Before I get distracted… How the hell did you know I saw the kiss?”

Evan’s eyes drop to my necklace, and my suspicion grows. “What did you do?”

“A tracker in your necklace allows me to hear what you’re saying. It also tracks your whereabouts.”

“You heard me ordering your coffee and knew I was coming to surprise you?”

“No. I can shut it off when I need to. I was trying to finish some work before class and turned it off to concentrate. But I turned it on before I left my office, so I heard your footsteps, your stunned gasp, and your heavy breathing when Jenna kissed me.”

“Why didn’t you shove her away sooner?”

“For one thing, I was stunned, then panicked when I realized she was kissing me and you were watching. But I also wanted to see if you’d fall back on old habits and run away.”

“I didn’t run, though.” She bites her lip as I glower at her before backtracking. “I mean, I didn’t go very far…”

“Doesn’t matter.”

“Wait a minute.” Lexi crosses her arms over her chest. “I should be angry. You put a tracker in my necklace. When you confessed about spying on Sophia and me, you could’ve confessed about the tracker instead of letting me believe you were spying in the window.”

“You would’ve run away if I told you that.”

She opens her mouth, then shuts it.
