Draven laughed, stealing one more searing kiss before pulling away. “As tempting as that sounds, what I have planned is too exciting to wait.” He helped me to my feet. “Get dressed and meet me in the hall.”

My nerves thrummed with curiosity as I threw on a simple dress and slipped out. Draven’s grin was contagious. “Let’s go,” he said, taking my hand and leading me through the clean corridors.

I recognized the path to the exclusive Greenbelt from our blissful picnic there days before. My pulse quickened. “Are we going back?” I asked hopefully. The memory of the enchanted forests and fountains within the great biodome was etched in my mind.

“Not quite.” Draven’s smile held a secret. “But I know you’ll like this just as much.”

We went a different direction, passing through an iris airlock. Draven entered a code and ushered me through into a smaller, self-contained dome. I caught my breath, eyes widening. “You built me a greenhouse?”

Lush greenery filled the space, flowers and vines spilling from raised beds. Misting nozzles lined the walls and path, the air heavy with moisture. Near the center sat a bubbling rock fountain surrounded by wrought iron benches.

It was a microcosm of the paradise we visited, tailored just for me. My knees went weak and Draven’s arm came around my waist, supporting me. “Do you like it?” he murmured.

“It’s perfect,” I whispered. Joyful tears stung my eyes as I turned to him. “You did all this for me?”

“Seeing you so happy in the Greenbelt, I knew you deserved a space of your own.” Draven brushed a thumb over my wet cheek. “Consider it yours. I want you to feel at home here.”

Overcome with love, I drew his mouth down to mine, trying to convey my sheer gratitude. Draven indulged me for long moments before gently pulling back. “Let me show you around.”

We followed the winding paths deeper inside. Draven assembled plants from a dozen worlds—exotic orchids, vines dangling iridescent fruit, flowers in every vivid hue. Each unique species was labeled with a plaque detailing its origin.

My inner botanist was in raptures examining each one. Many were rare or temperamental strains requiring expert care. Draven hovered nearby answering questions, clearly pleased by my fascination.

At an alcove along the wall sat an intricate potting bench stocked with tools and containers. I ran my fingers over the implements, imagining the creations I could shape. A towering cabinet held countless seed packets waiting to be nurtured into life.

“I wanted you to have everything you could need,” Draven explained. “No expense was spared.”

“I don’t know what to say.” I spun slowly, taking it all in. “It’s like you plucked the dreams right from my head. I still can’t believe you did this for me.”

“You deserve every beautiful thing, Starlight.” Draven drew me close, nuzzling into my hair. “I’ll move the heavens themselves to make you happy.”

My heart overflowed anew and I tilted my face up, finding his lips. Draven responded ardently, fingers threading through my hair. Our passion kindled in the glassy, humid air.

When we finally parted, panting, his head dipped to press hot kisses down the column of my throat. I arched my neck obligingly, pulse racing at the scrape of fangs.

His low voice vibrated against my skin. “Perhaps I could give you a very thorough tour of your new greenhouse? I’m sure we could find some creative uses for these benches...”

My breath left me in a rush and I tugged him back up into a searing kiss. “Show me everything,” I whispered.

In answer, Draven scooped me up easily, my legs wrapping his lean waist. He carried me deeper into the steamy jungle as anticipation stirred my blood. Vines and brilliant blooms enclosed us in our own private world.

At a clearing, he laid me back on the cool ironwork, the misters casting a fine sheen over our heated skin. I pulled him down, our mouths crashing together hungrily, all pretense at a tour abandoned.

There, surrounded by the symphony of trickling water and rustling leaves, Draven loved me thoroughly on the vine-strewn bench. I cried out again and again under his skilled hands and mouth until I was limp and sated beneath him.

But I needed to give back after his incredible gift. I pushed him down onto his back, trailing kisses across the firm muscles of his chest and markings of status. My tongue traced each ridge until he was writhing, manspread wide on the delicate bench.

“My turn to make you sing, mate.” My voice was throaty with promise.

I took him into my mouth, encouraged by his bitten-off curses. As I worked him with my lips and tongue, his big body shook, hands fisting my hair as I dismantled him.

When he found his peak, back bowing off the iron slats, I swallowed his ecstasy down, filled with feminine power. The greenhouse itself seemed to thrum vibrantly around us.

After, Draven held me against his heaving chest as we basked together. His satisfied rumble vibrated through me.

“We’ll have to christen every corner that way, Starlight.”

My delighted laugh echoed off the dome. I nestled closer, perfectly content. Already my mind was alive with ideas for my new haven.

“Thank you for this unbelievable gift, my love,” I sighed. “I’ll make it even more beautiful, you’ll see.”

Draven’s arms tightened around me. “You being here makes it perfect already.”
