My gaze darted between him and Ossian who had made no move to wipe the blood from his cut lip or split cheekbones.

“You didn’t want her to think you’re as bad as me, did you?” Ossian said, continuing the conversation as if I hadn’t just beaten him to a pulp.

A sobbing sound reminded me who I’d done it all for. I twisted as far as I could with Dax holding me back and jerked my head towards the door.

“Get her out of here,” I said to Minty.

She didn’t need telling twice. She wrapped an arm around Vivian and guided her out of the crypt. Our eyes didn’t connect once, not since my stunned ones met her glazed ones as she climaxed on Ossian’s tongue with my name on her lips. A fresh current of rage surged through me and I broke away from Dax with a guttural roar. My head smashed into Ossian’s pounding him into the stone wall, the force knocking me backwards. Now the room was truly coated in blood.

Dax and Hector grabbed each of my arms and dragged me along the stone floor towards the door. Just as we reached it, more footsteps sounded and a pair of high heels skittered to a halt behind me.

“What’s going on?”

I breathed a sigh of relief it wasn’t Elspeth. I couldn’t deal with my new bride right now.

“Marcia…” Dax started.

“He’s over there,” I said, in a voice trembling with adrenalin.

Ossian’s wife stepped over me and pulled up short.

“What the hell?” She spun back to face the three of us. “What’s going on?”

“Marcia,” I warned. “Don’t—”

She strutted towards her husband and bent forward, bringing her face up close to his. His gaze rolled up to meet hers while his bloodied head didn’t move.

“What. Did. You. Do?” she said, with a hiss that was almost as lethal as his own.

“Ask him,” Ossian slurred, blinking in my direction.

Marcia didn’t move. “I asked YOU.”

Ossian raised his eyes again and carefully enunciated each word. “I just ate out the love of his life.”

Marcia frowned as if she didn’t understand.

Ossian’s gaze didn’t waver. “I found her in here. It was dark. I pulled down her pants and licked her pussy until she came. Twice.”

Marcia straightened unsteadily. “What did you say?”

A sick smile returned to Ossian’s face and he darted his eyes back to me. “She thought I was him.”

Marcia turned slowly, with pity in her eyes. Then she took one look at my bloodied fists and curled her own. Hector saw it and leapt towards her, pulling her back before she could attempt to kill Ossian too.

“Y-you…” she stammered.

Ossian tilted his jaw in interest.

“You’re psychotic!” Marcia spat.

Ossian arched a brow as, best he could seeing as both of them had been beaten to a blur, and sneered. “I prefer creative.”

“Is it true?” Dax said in my ear.

“Hector,” I said, quietly. “Can you…”

He nodded, understanding straight away. “Marcia, you don’t belong down here. Let’s go.”
