And she’s holding a beautiful blond-haired baby.

My pulse beats faster than a two-step beat and my hand finds my chest.

I can’t breathe as Lincoln scoops the baby out of her arms and spins her around, then kisses her chubby cheeks.

Two little boys then appear by his side, all excited to see him and almost tackle him to the ground.

Oh my God. I think I’m going to be sick. He has a wife and three kids!

How did I not see this?

He let me fall in love with him.

That poor girl.

And those adorable little children.

Fuck him.

He’s not getting away with this.

My blood boils hotter than the sun in my veins.

I grab Pom-pom and fly out of my car, slamming the door behind me and stomp all the way over to Lincoln.

Let the battle commence.

CHAPTER 21

Lincoln

“I can’t believe you’re here.” I give Eva a quick hug and pull Thea out of her arms. My little sister grants me a huge smile as I spin her around and she lets out a high-pitched squeal. Her green eyes are even more emerald than I remember. She’s so cute with her little blond pigtails. She’s adorable and could be a lot of trouble for me as she gets older. I may turn into the Hulk if a boy comes anywhere near her.

“I’ve missed you, little one.” I give her chubby cheeks a kiss.

“Everyone else is checking in. It’s carnage in there, so I came out here for some fresh air.” Eva scrunches her nose up and pulls her statement green Fedora hat down her face to protect it from the high sun. “Traveling with three kids was a challenge. Oh, and then of course my sisters’ four too. Not great.” Eva always looks so glamorous and she does not look like she just traveled on a long-haul flight with three kids. My dad’s a lucky man.

She loves him with everything she is, and I love her even more for that.

“Lincoln!” Archie and Hamish almost bowl me over.

“Look how big you’ve gotten.” They both throw their arms around me and Thea when I bend down. “I’ve missed you.”

“I’ve missed you too,” Archie whispers back, melting my heart.

“I miss the sandcastle competitions.” Hamish leans out of our hug and smiles. “Your boo-boo is all better.” He points at my forehead.

“Like magic, Hamish.”

“We have a present for you.” Archie pulls something from his pocket. “Close your eyes.”

I clench my eyes tight.

“Now open.” Cupped in Archie’s two hands is a gray-colored heart-shaped rock.

“Is that for me?” I choke up.

Archie and Hamish bounce their heads enthusiastically. “We found it on the beach.”
