“Yeah?” She blinks her coffee-coloured gems.

“Can I tell you three other truths?”

“Yeah.” She tucks an invisible hair strand behind her ear.

Fuck it, I have nothing to lose. If I get my ass fired, I don’t care. I’m only here for a few weeks. It’s not like I need the money, not that she knows that.

“One, I want to take you out on a date. Two, I’m flipped out by how attracted I am to you. Three, yesterday I didn’t see anything because you are completely bare.” She gasps. I lower my voice further. “Bonus truth. It’s the prettiest I’ve ever seen.”

“You saw.” She gasps.

“Everything. Embossed in my brain forever now. It's all I can think about.”

“You should forget it.”

“I can’t.” I whisper.

She stares at my mouth. “You have nice lips.”

“Yours are prettier.”

“The perfect cupid’s bow.” She’s hypnotized.

A smile pulls my lips wide open. “All the better for kissing.”

“And perfect white teeth.” She keeps her focus on my mouth.

“All the better for biting.” I lick my lips.

“Tongue.” She’s mesmerized.

I lean in further and move toward her ear. “All the better for licking and tasting illicit hidden treasures.” She makes a faint whimper sound.

“Time’s up!” Andrew shouts, and the two of us spring backward in our seats.

In quick succession, Violet smooths her hands down the thighs of her black trousers, fixes her perfect ponytail, and then fans her face with her hand, muttering words I can’t hear under her breath. It’s then I notice her hard nipples are piercing the thin fabric of her tee shirt.

She likes me. She’s annoyed at herself for letting me get under her skin. I bet she doesn’t let anyone into her usually guarded exterior.

I know only too well what it’s like when you have money and your father is a powerful businessman. There are always those types who relish in success by association. The friends I keep are close, from high school, my boys, but the women I have dated previously come and go like the gravitational force of the tides. They love the fancy house I live in, the Porsche I drive, the fancy suits, the wining and dining, but it’s all superficial shit.

They don’t know the real me; they don’t want to get to know me either, but they like the idea of me. The money always sits at the forefront of their minds and it becomes harder to trust as you climb the success ladder. Like Violet, I keep my friends close and everyone else on the perimeter, looking in.

“Everyone back in a semicircle and let’s discuss this exercise.” Andrew instructs us.

Rio looks over at me and frowns. “You okay?” he mouths.

I give him a thumbs-up to reassure him.

I can’t exactly tell him my dick is now at half-mast and all I want to do is corner Violet and ravish her mouth with mine now, can I?

After all, she’s the boss and it would now appear, the boss of my dick too.

CHAPTER 6

Violet

Oh hell.
