He lets go and a high-pitched yelp escapes my chest as we fall together. Lincoln wraps his other arm around my shoulders, pulling my face into his chest, dousing me with his spicy, zesty scent. I feel adrenaline rushing through my veins as we swing together through the air. I can’t believe he talked me into doing this today.

“You’re so brave, Violet.”

“Thank you for having my back.”

“Always.”

We softly hit the ground before we can exchange any more words.

I let go of Lincoln and steady my shaky legs, relieved to be back on solid ground.

I push my hands out in front of me and they are vibrating like I’m standing in subzero weather.

“Violet, you did it. Finally.” My uncle Andrew shouts across to me, punching the air.

“I feel amazing,” I exclaim. I’m not lying, I feel great. “I’m buying drinks for everyone after this.” I’ve lost my mind.

Everyone bursts out laughing and moves into a semicircle with Uncle Andrew. “Lincoln, can you unharness Violet and then join us for a debrief?”

Lincoln’s by my side in a heartbeat.

He undoes my harness as I’m still trying to catch my breath. I feel like I’ve drunk twenty cans of energy drink.

“Are you untying me?” I feel giddy, almost breathless.

“I’d prefer to tie you up and keep you in this,” he says with a serious face, keeping his voice low. “Save that for another day.” He brushes my chest with his firm hands and my nipples pebble at his touch.

“This harness is squeezing my boobs.” They are quite painful.

Lincoln groans. “You’re teasing me. They look incredible squeezed into this harness.”

A girly giggle leaves my panting chest. “Your package is teasing me. It’s very obvious where those straps are positioned around your crotch.” He stops fiddling with the ties. “You are packing some heat down there, Lincoln Black.” Somebody gag me since I seem to have lost my mind.

“You’ve been checking me out?” He narrows his eyes.

“Rather hard to miss.”

His dazzling smile shines brightly. He has a stunning smile, and he laughs and jokes a lot. I like his carefree spirit. “You’re free, Ms. West.” He takes a step back.

I feel the relief across my shoulders.

I can’t help myself, and I bounce toward him and throw my arms around his neck. “You said so many beautiful things to me today, Lincoln. Thank you so much for helping me take a leap of faith.”

He doesn’t let me go and mumbles into my ear, “I was serious before. You make me want to take a leap of faith with you, Violet.”

“I do too. Tonight? You and me.” I’ve never been this forward with a guy before.

“It’s a Friday night. Do you not have plans?”

“I do now, with you. I’ll text you once we leave here.”

“You don’t have my number.” He frowns.

“Yes, I do. I have your file.”

“Sneaky.”

“Organized. You had better let go of me. People are staring.” I release him from my appreciative hug.
