“You don’t have to decide.” Orion gently nips my throat. “Just know that we’re here and we’re not walking away.”

Atlas keeps petting my belly. “Feeling better?”

He’s a wizard.

His dominance is so soothing, all I can do is nod, head pillowed on his biceps.

He didn’t even fuck me and everything’s fixed.

Heat gone, hormones appeased, and heart in serious fucking trouble.

I drift off, and they follow, drenching me in their soft, sleepy breaths.

But something stops me from slipping too deep.

The air stirs and my eyes crack open.

Jett stands in the shadows.

Feels like he’s standing at the edge of the galaxy, he’s so far away, and he watches just the same way I watched Atlas and Orion, when I thought they’d never have a spot for me.

The same way I stood in the doorway during my heat, afraid to take that step.

Just because you know you don’t belong doesn’t mean you stop wanting it.

Jett watches us with longing.

My heart scratches my chest.

He holds my gaze, and I can’t help stretching out the fingers that hang over Orion’s hip.

He whirls, then disappears into the darkness.

Maybe not ready.

Or maybe I’m wrong and he never wanted to belong.

What do I know about belonging?

Pressed between Atlas and Orion, it’s the first time I feel like I don’t need to run.

THIRTY

LILAH

I wake alone.

Someone carried me to bed, and last night feels like a dreamy bubble that’ll pop into nothing but soap scum the second I set foot on the carpet.

So, I do the natural thing and grab my phone, hoping to numb out for ten minutes, maybe twelve hours or a few months.

Orion hooked my reading app to their pack card.

Big mistake.

I’m gonna download so many books that my favorite authors can all buy second homes.

Only, before I can raid the ebook store, a notification pops up with my missed messages.
