“What happened?” Atlas’s brow furrows, but his hand never budges from the back of my neck. His thumb rubs a slow, gentle stroke that has me wanting popcorn instead of panicking.
“Jett will have to answer that question.”
JJ shrugs, icy-casual. “I shaved some heads.”
“You got caught.” Hunter’s neck vein pops. “You teach the effing class on infiltration.”
“Wanted them to see.” He licks his lips, eyes boiling with shadows just for me. “Wanted them to know what happens when you touch her.”
“He brought me their pony tails,” I say on a happy sigh.
Who needs flowers and chocolates?
I like revenge.
Okay. Also chocolates.
But still.

“Asshole.” Finn elbows him. “Why didn’t you invite me?”
“It was my debt to pay.”
“Fuck. Getting a collar.” Finn dashes to his bondage closet, not giving a shit about Noelle’s kidnapping, Jett’s prosecution, or his own axing when Patricks politically cancel the Wyverns.
My heart puffs so full, my ribs can barely hold the glow. “You don’t have to go…”
When Hunter turns to me, his tension melts. He scoops me out of Atlas’s arms.
And holy shit.
When Atlas holds me, it’s grizzly feels. Warm and soft, and yeah, muscular, but mostly big and cuddly.
Hunter’s supposed to be the teddy bear.
But when he pulls me tight, hooking his arms around my waist and soaking me in smoky honey, it’s a hug from a jacked statue.
Hard, cut, sculpted muscle.
Something coils inside, and my scent spikes high and wild.
My fingers twitch. I wanna flick him and see if there’s give or if he’s protein powder all the way down.
Hunter’s chuckle strokes that coiling tickle. “Killer. They wanna make me pack leader.”
“Is that okay?” I give into the urge to smooth his shoulders.
Dying, and the tattoos aren’t even out.
“It is if I can bite you first. Right here.” Hunter nips my throat, just below my jaw. I shudder. “Or here?” He dips to my shoulder, nibbling the soft flesh above my collarbone until my legs suction to his hard waist.
Anywhere’s fine.
Or everywhere.
I want his teeth.
