But for now, I pushed those thoughts aside and focused on finding Alexis. She was supposed to be here somewhere, and I didn’t want to leave her alone in a room full of strangers.

Chapter 4

WILDER

“Please, please, oh God.” She screamed. I curled my hand into the strands of her hair and pulled her head back. A moan escaped the lips of the blonde from the club. The sweat was slick between us and I have her pushed up against the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Her perky breasts pressed up against the glass. My cock pounded in and out of her swollen, wet pussy. Her high pitched moans intensified as she hit her climax. I loved hearing a woman scream with pleasure. But I was done hearing her annoying voice.

I pulled out and shoved her to the floor. She gasped at the sudden change of position. I took that moment to put my dick down her throat. Her eyes were wide with needed air. I held it there for a minute. A little reminder of who was in control. In and out, my hands on the sides of her head, fingers curled into her hair, I held tight and thrust hard. Tears streamed down her face. I came down her throat, and I held her there. Until the last trembles of my satisfaction were swallowed.

I pulled my dick out of her mouth and pulled my pants back up. Walking over to the bar in my hotel room, I poured myself a drink.

The girl came out of the bathroom. “I’ve called you a cab. It should be downstairs,” I said to her. I wasn’t in the mood for company tonight. She was a good fuck, but I kept picturing the girl with the green eyes. I wanted to drown out her image with whiskey. I couldn’t afford to get attached to any girl. But fuck, I was pissed that the blonde came and interrupted my conversation with Anna. I had never felt the instant attraction to someone that I had with her. I watched her walk off to find her friend and I wanted to bring her back to my place instead of giggle tits.

Instead, I was going to get the quick fuck out of my system and sit on the balcony the rest of the night chain smoking and drinking whiskey, forgetting the green eyes and quieting the screams that plagued me at night.

Levi staggered back, wincing in pain as he clutched his stomach where I had landed another punch. His words were strained as he struggled to catch his breath, “Fuck, man. What the hell has gotten into you?”

“Nothing man. You’re just too fucking slow. The cush lawyer job isn’t helping you much in the ring. I just need to blow off some steam,” I laughed, my fists clenched and ready to strike. Out of breath, I take my pent-up frustration out on him every week in the ring.

Levi laughed as we each grabbed our water bottles and caught our breath.

“Speaking of jobs. Are you staying safe?” I knew he was thinking about my career choice and the dangers that still lurked around me. Levi had managed to break free from his father’s grip and carve out a new life for himself. He was living on his terms, away from the family business and the violence that came with it. He knew that when I was younger, I had my own ideas of how my life would turn out. All that changed when I killed my first man at the age of 14. Since then, I had been sucked into a world of crime and violence, with no way out. He knew better than to ask me about work now, but he liked to be assured that my ass was going to come home in one piece.

“I’m here, aren’t I? Can’t be going too bad if I’m kicking your ass,” I responded.

“Actually, my father is in town. Texted me last night and wanted to meet for dinner tonight.”

“When was the last time you saw your dad?” Levi asked.

“It’s been about a year. He wants something.”

“Let me know how it goes. We can go out tonight again if you need to release some frustration.”

“I have a fancy fucking event to go to. Got to keep up appearances as a legitimate businessman of the city.”

I rolled my eyes at Levi’s laughter, but I couldn’t help but grin. The Kavanagh’s were big enough names in the city and our casino and clubs were successful enough to have us invited to all sorts of high-profile events, but I usually preferred to stay out of the limelight. However, this event was different. This one was for the humane society and that was one I do support every single year.

I met my father at an upscale restaurant that evening. As I walked into the restaurant, my eyes scanned the area, taking note of my father’s men stationed outside. I didn’t trust any of them, but I knew that I had to play nice for the sake of the family. Sean, my most trusted and loyal man, followed close behind me. We were led to a private room at the back of the restaurant, where my father was already seated at a large mahogany table. He looked up as we entered, his piercing gaze taking in every detail of my appearance.

“Good evening father.”

“Good to see you, son,” he said, his tone clipped. I forced a smile and took my seat across from him, with Sean standing silently behind me. My father’s two men flanked him on either side, their faces blank and unreadable.

My father, Ryan Kavanagh, was a powerful man, with a commanding presence that demanded attention. In contrast, I looked more like my mother. My brother had always been the favorite, thanks to his striking resemblance to my father. But I had inherited one thing from him – his piercing gray eyes, which had always been my most striking feature.

The waiter brought me a whiskey and my father waited to speak until after he left.

“How is business in Chicago?” He leaned back and stared at me.

“We are bringing more product in, and have increased revenue. I have finalized an agreement with the Russians on territory lines. All businesses are bringing in money. And the issue with the Santos Port had been taken care of.”

As I finished updating my father on the state of our operations, he seemed pleased with the progress we had made. He leaned back in his chair and regarded me for a moment, his expression unreadable. “That’s good work, son.” He motioned for everyone to leave the room. “I have a job for you. It was a bit more personal. But you are the best at what you do. So I need it to be you.”
