“Fuck, Vandy.”

“Fuck, yes, Royce,” she moaned as he rode her harder. He put his hands under her butt and tilted her hips a little bit higher, changing their angle.

She arched back, offering her nipples to him. He popped one back in his mouth, tormenting the sensitive peak with his teeth and tongue. She was shaking and practically begging.

Still, he was going to drive her harder and deeper than ever before. Royce unhooked her legs from his waist and used his arms to spread them wider. Then he tested her flexibility by pushing her legs almost against her chest. That tightened her channel and let his cock put extra pressure on her g-spot. She climaxed a second time and felt him let go.

They lay there, a tumble of boneless limbs.

She was utterly spent from the trip, the ER, the brother, and now this.

Royce, being the snuggling type, moved to the side and cuddled her close. A close second to sex, she let her body relax into its post-orgasm haze.

“I’m glad I came,” she whispered, unable to explain how she craved this closeness. It was too early to understand her own mind or heart—except this felt right somehow.

“I hope so. I’m willing to make you come a few more times.”

She went to shove him in the chest and stopped. “Sorry.”

“You were rougher a few minutes ago. Stop worrying.”

“I don’t want to break you. They sewed you up this morning.” She pointed to his stitches, which, beyond avoiding during the massage, she’d almost forgotten about.

“Takes more than this to break me.”

“Sean doesn’t agree.”

“He thinks I’m twelve.” He stuck out his tongue at her.

“Royce, he loves you. And he thinks… that your heart is more fragile than normal. He’s having trouble living with the before and after versions of Royce.” She set her hand on his chest.

“Are you?”

“I don’t know a before Royce, and I like this one just fine.”

“Good.”

She hesitated. “I don’t have experience here, but are breakups usually this extreme. I understand she was your girlfriend of four years.”

Royce’s eyes darkened. “She wasn’t my girlfriend… she was my fiancée. I never told anyone. Two days before she left, I asked her to marry me. I bought her a ring on my credit card from the jeweler in the bridal shop. She said yes.”

“I hate her every time someone tells me something new about her.” Vandy was furious on Royce’s behalf.

He kissed her, quieting her. “I couldn’t tell Sean when he found me. And then… here you are. I was able to walk back into the shop without shame.”

“Wow. I’m… just wow. That’s a lot.” Vandy’s brain whirled with the newfound knowledge. Was she supposed to be upset or jealous or cry?

“I’m a different person than I was then. Sean might be worried I’ll break again; I worry I bring too much baggage for you. Can you keep me? Accept scars you can see and the ones you can’t? Your life would be simpler if you’d picked a college guy.” Royce gently echoed Sean’s suggestions.

Vandy might have been inexperienced, but she wasn’t clueless. “I’m happy right where I am. I’m not walking away.”

“Good.”

“There is one thing, though.”

“What?”

“Can we buy some dishes? I had to eat popcorn in a teacup.”
