She laughed a little as she went back to leaning her head against my shoulder.

“Sam, I think even when I was mad at you all these years, I would still have been your friend.”

I let out a sigh at how grateful I was. It was a weight lifted off my shoulders. I never wanted to do anything to hurt or upset her. She deserved all the goodness in the world, and one way or another I was going to give it to her.

Fishing for the room key out of my pocket as we walked to the room, I kept my other arm snuggly around her. We headed inside and the first thing she did was kick off her heels then head into the bathroom. While she was busy, I searched through our bag for some comfy clothes then turned the AC over to heat. There was a slight chill in the room, and after being outside, we needed some heat.

“Shall I order room service?” I shouted.

“Will they still be serving?”

“It says 24 hours on the menu. I will see what I can get for us as I’m starving.”

We had only eaten those burgers back at the café. If this were a regular day, I would have been on my fourth, maybe even fifth meal of the day. My stomach grumbled in protest as I flicked through the menu pages..

“Sam, can you unzip me please?”

She appeared beside me as I kept my eyes down on the menu, daring myself not to look. Turning around slowly, I looked at her as she moved her hair over one shoulder, and I felt my mouth run dry.

“No, getting ideas, misses,” I joked, even though I was already full of ideas myself.

“Don’t worry, Mr. Captain, I won’t pounce on you.”

Captain? Well, that would easily have sent me over the edge if I was a few inches deep inside her. After I unzipped her dress, only far enough for her to get undressed, she headed back into the bathroom with her pyjamas. Oddly enough, as much as I would have loved to see her in her underwear, I was looking forward to seeing her in her cozy mode.

Undoing the buttons of my shirt, I threw it on the back of a chair. After finally deciding what snacks we needed, I called down to the reception desk and ordered a bunch of options.

“Food's ordered.”

“Oh, good, because I’m famished.”

She stepped in the middle of the room with a make-up wipe in her hand and stared at me, her eyes traveling up and down as she took me in. Her eyes were almost ravenous. Before I even realized, I had crossed the bedroom and stood just a few inches away from her body.

The silk tank top left little to the imagination as I could make out the shapes of her breasts and her nipples pressing against the fabric. The shorts were shorter than I originally thought and if I could, I’d have ripped them off there and then.

The sexual tension in the room could have been cut with a knife as I watched her eyes lower to my lips. Unable to stop myself, I reached out, running my hands up and down her arms, while she placed a hand on my chest.

“Friends don’t touch each other like this,” she said under her breath, and I tried not to laugh.

“No, friends don’t do this.”

She took a step forward, closing the gap between us even more and I swore my heart skipped a beat. I wanted so badly to wrap my arms around her and pour myself into her. I didn’t move as she went on her toes and started to kiss my neck, wrapping her other hand on the back of my neck, pulling me down towards her.

I couldn’t ignore her pleas, I caved and kissed her passionately. Losing myself in her was exactly where I wanted to be. She moaned against my lips as I slipped one hand under her top and brushed my thumb against a nipple and pinched it lightly, rolling it between my thumb and finger. Kissing her deeply as she curved herself more into me, my other arm tightened around her waist as I leaned into her.

The heat and the lust was rising fast between us until a knock on the door stopped us suddenly.

“Room service.”

I sighed against her lips as I reluctantly let go to answer the door. Tipping the staff member, I pushed the rolling cart filled with trays of food and treats in, locking the door behind me. Kim sat on the edge of the bed, flushed and trying to catch her breath. If it wasn’t for the fact food had arrived, I was pretty sure we would have ended up in bed together.

CHAPTER 14

Kimberly

Now sitting on the edge of the bed, I tried to calm the heat that rose everywhere on my body. Sam was placing the plates of food on the small dining table in our room. I was too nervous to speak or even move. I wished he would put a shirt on to stop distracting me and making me think of things I wanted him to do to me.

He was even hotter than I remembered. His body was muscular in all the right places while his trousers sat perfectly on his hips. His right arm was covered in artwork. From what I could see it was mainly hockey themed and brightly colored.
