She laughs. “Two titles I’ll hold with pride.”
“Have you told Willow yet?”
“Not yet. I can’t wait to tell her. She’s going to freak out!”
She sounds so excited, and it makes my heart burst with love for her. I haven’t been this damn happy since my wedding day. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much.
“You know what this means?” Avery says, wiggling her eyebrows. “It means it’s Jackson and Maeve’s turn next. They’re the only Ryder couple without a baby.”
“I have a feeling that will change soon enough,” I tell her with a smirk. “They can’t keep their hands off each other.”
“Hmm. That reminds me of another couple I know.”
“Oh, really?” I ask. “Are they called Avery and Hunter, by any chance?”
“You bet.”
“I’ve heard she’s the most beautiful woman in the world.”
Avery beams at me. “And what about him?”
I shrug. “He’s just a grumpy old cowboy.”
“Well, you know what I think?” she says, giggling. “I think he’s perfect. And I think she loves him with all her heart.”
“He loves her too,” I tell her, my heart swelling as I look at my perfect wife, reaching out to press my palm against the softness of her belly. “He loves her more than she will ever know.”
