Ezra looked at me curiously as he sat down the things he retrieved from my apartment. “Everything alright?”
“Yup. Saint and I had a bit of a welcome to the club chat.” I took hold of his hand and pulled down to the bed. “I asked him about my apartment and my job. I even asked him about dinners with my dad. He said I needed to talk to you.”
Ezra looked into my eyes and swept an errant piece of hair out of my face. “I think you should move in with me. The Rios Cartel still exists and while they most likely won’t retaliate against us, they may still go after you if you are alone.”
“Is that the only reason you want me to move here?” I asked, prodding him to say the words I desperately wanted to hear again.
Ezra smirked as he leaned over me. “No, that’s not the only reason, Candy Cane. I love you and want to sleep with you in my bed every night and wake up next to you every morning. I want you here with me always.”

“If you want to work as a teacher, be a teacher. If you prefer helping around the club or with our businesses, that’s fine as well. Just know that until we know you’re safe from the Rios Cartel, you’ll always have someone with you to protect you. A few of our prospects are even willing to help in your classroom should you want them to.”
Before I could respond to him, he claimed my lips again. I thought about his words and pulled apart from him. “I’ll have a guard?”
“To keep you safe.”
“That… that will take some adjusting but I can work with it. And my dad?”
“Saint wants us to go together to any dinners for now but that’s just because of who he is.”
I nodded my head. It all made sense. I was new and the Sheriff’s daughter. I would earn their trust and loyalty with my actions. That was something I knew to be a fact in my heart and soul. If my father had an issue with it then he didn’t deserve to be a part of my life.
I pulled Ezra back down to me and said against his lips, “I am yours, and you are mine. I love you Ezra Martin.”
His smile made him more handsome than ever. I wanted to see it on his face every day. As he claimed my lips once again I sighed with pure happiness. “Having you in my arms has been a fantasy of mine since I was a punk of a teenager.”
“When I went away to school I never stopped thinking about you. I missed you so much and I didn’t even know you. It made no sense but was true nonetheless,” I admitted to him.
