I roll, trying to get free of the blanket, and it loosens up just as I hear a gunshot.
No, no!
I sit up and get one arm free, tearing the bag off my head. In the near-opaque snowfall, I see two figures--one in a full ski suit, two others in nothing but coats, jeans, and boots. Callum and Kai must be freezing, but I can see the fever in their eyes, the need to help an omega in heat.

"Look out!" I cry, and Kai looks my direction just in time to dodge out of the way of the other man who's come out of the cabin behind us. I don't know how many of them there are, but I know we have to take them on and get into shelter fast--otherwise we'll all freeze in the storm.
All I can do is watch as Kai and Callum fight my would-be kidnappers, outmatched because the men have guns. I try desperately to get my arms free, but I'm already feeling the bite of the cold on my bare skin, and I'm certain that once I get out, I'll have to hurry if I want to survive. If I don't get out, though, the two of them could die...and then I'll be alone, stranded in the snow with two bad men.
I'm almost out when I hear the door swing open to the cabin, and my heart sinks at the prospect that these men have another friend with them, that it's all over--when someone races past me and launches himself on top of the guy who drove me here. He somehow manages to wrestle the gun away from the kidnapper and, in a sickening second, he pulls the trigger.
One down, one to go.
My head swims.

He's older than I first assumed, though he's still in his prime. His eyes roam over me, and I stifle a shiver, my eyes catching on his. I'm still a little out of it from my heat, and as he starts to come toward me, I aim the gun at him and find my voice. "Stay back!"
"I'd never hurt you," he says, his voice achingly deep, rumbling down to my bones. "I'm here to protect you."
Callum looks from him to me, his eyes lingering on my breasts. I'll have frostbite in seconds if I don't hurry, but my whole body is still shaking from the orgasms, the fight, my heat...
"We have to hurry," Callum mutters. "We can figure this out when we're inside and warm."
"And once we get that vibrator out of you..." Kai adds.
I'm still shaking as they help me up, with me stumbling as my body starts to give into the cold. The alphas on either side of me steady me, holding me tight.
I shudder as we step into the cabin and close the door behind us.
I'm finally safe.
