I frown, unsure of what kind of response she wants. “Only if you want it to be.”
“So, I did okay? It wasn’t … bad?”
She’s worried about a silly little thing like that? It would be laughable if not for the serious look of concern on her face as she watches my reaction. Does she really think I could ever have anything but the utmost praise for her sexual prowess?
I sit up as well, not wanting her to get the impression that I’m not taking this just as seriously as she. I gaze into those blue depths and take her hand in mine. “Callie, it was perfect.”
She lets out a sigh of relief, and the tension bleeds out of her shoulders.
“Were you truly concerned about that?”
“Well, yeah. It was my first time. I think every human worries about how they’re gonna do their first time.” She pauses and cocks her head to the side in thought. “I guess as a sex demon that’s not something You worry about though, huh? Like, YouknowYou’re good.”
I can’t help but laugh at that. She has no idea how nervous I was last night.
Her hands come to rest on her hips, and she gives Me an indignant expression. “What’s so damn funny?”
I pull her into a hug, holding her body close. “Trust me, even sex demons get nervous at times. This is especially true when emotions are involved. I’ve never feared a poor performance more than I did with you last night, dear Callie.”
Callie giggles into My shoulder. “I can’t imagine You being nervous about anything, let alone sex. With me, no less.”
“I care about you, Callie. I love you; your pleasure is everything to me.”
When she pushes back to look into my eyes, hers are lined with tears. A brief moment of panic hits me as I fear I said something to upset her.
“You love me?”
I blink in confusion. “Of course. I told you: There is no one else for me.”
Before I can properly demonstrate just what she means to me, an explosion of power erupts a few miles outside My Realm. My Son, Samsher, appears in our conjured room as Elena’s voice echoes throughout Hell.
“Asmodeus, You fucking bastard! You’d better come out and face me!”
Callie shrieks and grabs the blanket to cover herself. “Sam! What the fuck are you doing in here? Get the fuck out!”
Samsher’s eyes dart around, and he stands guard by the door. He ignores Callie’s demands. “Father, You must leave.Now. Lena knows what You did, and she’s pissed.”
When My Son does not leave, Callie conjures an outfit to cover herself.
It’s an outfit fit for a Queen of Hell, and I immediately forget anything else.
Callie has decked herself out in head-to-toe black leather. Soft and supple, it hugs her every curve. The cut of her top is such that her cleavage lifts to impossible heights, and I watch the curve of her ass with hungry eyes as she rolls out of the bed to stand next to My Son. Her heeled boots make her almost as tall as he is.
“Sam, spill it. Why is Lena busting down the Goddamn door here?”
He rolls his eyes at Callie and conjures a sword. “You know your sister’s powers better than most. Do you really think she wouldn’t sense when her only remaining sibling—”
“Ew! She cansensethat?” Callie shudders. “Gross!”
“You two raised enough power to level a large city last night. Of course, she sensed it.”
I shake my head to clear it and conjure an outfit of my own, a black leather one to match Callie, with form-fitting pants and a tight vest. “You would take up the sword against your own mate, Samsher? Brave of you.”
My Son turns to glare at me. “She’ll kill You outright if I don’t step in. This at least gives You a chance to get away. She’ll hesitate to hurt me; You, not so much.” He waves his free hand at me. “For the last time, Father, leave.”
“Wait a sec …” Callie taps her lip with a finger in thought. “That was hours ago, even by Earth time. Why is Lena only just now getting here?”
Again, My Son rolls his eyes. “She had to find a sitter. We all refused to watch the kids. We weren’t going to make it easier for her to murder our Father. Now a very confused Molli is watching Ben and Niki while Lena goes on her rampage.”
