“Where’s Bridget?” I ask, trying to distract myself.

“She went to a meeting with Caden,” Ghost answers. “Nik’s trying to get a hold of them now, but Caden doesn’t take his phone in.”

“When you get in touch with them, tell them to go straight back to the house and go into lockdown,” I instruct.

“Take this left,” Banger says. I whip the wheel and glide effortlessly down the hill. “You’re doing fucking great, man. Just a little bit longer.”

“I’ll tell them,” Nik answers. “See you at the cabin.”

The line disconnects, and I peek in the rearview mirror. The cars are just as close as they were before, but they are gaining fast. I punch the gas and hold onto the steering wheel, reminding myself that I’m in control. I take the next right, and the car skids a little bit. I correct easily and swallow down the overwhelming panic.Just two more rights.I keep repeating that over and over.

I jerk the wheel for the next turn, and the vehicle behind me slams into the back of the car. I lose control on the loose gravel, and it sends us straight through a guardrail, right into the water fifteen feet below. I brace myself for impact, but it’s useless.

We hit hard, and my head hits the windshield, making my vision waiver.

Water rapidly starts filling the car through the open windows, and I can feel myself losing consciousness. I only have one thought before I pass out.

Ya lyublyu tebya, Boginya.

Chapter 39

Bridget

Tellingyourmomthatyou’re in a relationship is hard enough. Telling her that you’re in a relationship with multiple dudes is worse.

I know Mom is used to it because of Les, and she’s very accepting, but will she feel the same way about me? One way to find out.

“Mom!” I call out, shoving through the front door. I couldn’t even come alone. Since Dmitri and Banger were out, Lex and Nik are currently sitting outside the house like guard dogs.

“In here!” I follow her voice and find her in the living room. She stands when I walk in and pulls me into a hug. “I’ve missed you.”

“I’ve missed you too.” I never go this long without seeing Mom, but I’ve been busy.Your pussy has been busy.

We get settled on the couch, and I take a deep breath. “Mom, I need to tell you something.”

“Oh my God. Are you pregnant?!”

“What?” I squeak. “No! Why is that your first thought?”

“Because you look so serious. You’re never serious.”

“Excuse me? I can be serious. Look at me being serious and shit.” She gives me the ‘Mom’ look, making me laugh. “Okay. Let’s start again.” I pull my leg up to turn to face her. “I’m dating someone.”

Mom claps her hands together in excitement. “It’s Caden, isn’t it? I just knew it!”

“Yes.” I roll my eyes when her smile stretches across her face. Too bad that won’t last. “But it’s not just him.”

“What do you mean?”

I take a deep breath and hope she doesn’t lose her mind. “I’m not just dating Caden.”

Mom stares at me for so long that I start to get nervous, and then I see the moment she realizes what I mean. “Who else?”

This is the part that makes me even more nervous. She doesn’t really know Ghost or Banger, but she knows the twins. I know a side of them that not everyone has seen. The caring, sweet side. Les was right when she said that Alexey and Dmitri love hard. And they’ve proved it time and time again. I’m still unsure where Nik and I stand, even after what happened in his office. We haven’t had much time to discuss it. “You remember Ghost and Banger?” She nods, but I can see the frown forming. “Alexey and Dmitri too.”

“Bridget,” she sighs. “Those boys are trouble.”

I’m already shaking my head before she finishes that sentence. “You don’t know them like I do, Mom. They do what they have to do to survive, but they treat me so good.”
