BLAZE
After we all start breathing normally, I take Eli to the bathroom in the playroom to get us cleaned up while Kane takes Jaxon down the hallway. I get the shower running and pull him inside, wrapping him in my arms.
“You were amazing, Sweetheart.”
“Thatwas amazing. How did you know that’s what I need?”
“I always know what you need.” I turn him around so he’s under the spray. I get his hair wet and grab the shampoo.
“I’m supposed to be doing this for you.”
“I just need to touch you.” I feel like I need to make up for the weeks that I neglected Eli. We’ve been together for a long time, and he’s never given up on me. “I want to thank you for never leaving me.”
Eli’s eyes open. “I could never leave you, Blaze.”
“I know that now.” I work the shampoo into his hair and tip his head back to rinse it. “I know I’m not easy to deal with between the voices and outbursts.”
“Those are what makes you who you are. I never want to change you.”
“I know,” I say, emotion clogging my voice. “I want to make sure you’re okay with everything happening with Jaxon.”
“Blaze, I’ve never been so happy in my life. You and Jaxon need each other just as much as I need you.”
I get the body wash and squirt it directly on my hands. Running my hands all over his body, I re-memorize every dip and curve. “I want us to get married.”
“Um, what?”
“All of us.”
Eli chuckles. “That’s not legal, Blaze.”
“I had an idea.” I rinse Eli off, and he pushes me until we switch places. His fingers dig into my scalp, and I groan. “Fuck, that feels good.”
“What’s your idea?” he laughs.
“I took Kane’s last name years ago. If I marry you and Jaxon marries Kane, we’ll all have the same last name. Kind of like we’re all married to each other.”
“You’re serious about this.” Eli starts washing my body, taking his time.
“Yes.”
Eli’s hand pauses on my abs when what I said hits him. “You want to marry me?”
“I know I fought it in the beginning, but you were always meant for me, Sweetheart.” Eli’s eyes fill with tears, and I look at him in concern.
“Happy tears,” he assures me, wrapping his arms around my neck. “Yes.”
I crush him to my chest. “We need to go tell Kane and Jaxon.”
Eli laughs. “Kane doesn’t know about this plan, does he?”
“Nope. But he’s about to.”
