We finish up our shower and go in search of Kane. We find them in the kitchen with Kane digging through the fridge. Eli slides onto the stool beside Jaxon with a smile.

“I have news,” I announce. “We’re getting married.”

Kane jerks up and spins around. “You and Eli?”

“All of us!” Kane looks at me like I’m crazy, and I huff. “I marry Eli. You marry Jaxon. We make one big happy family. Keep up.”

“Blaze,” Kane says slowly. “I think this is something we should have talked about.”

“What’s there to talk about? There’s all kinds of love and shit going around. Just go with it.”

Jaxon coughs to cover up a laugh. “I think we still have other stuff to work through.”

“Semantics,” I say, waving that away. “We can go in the morning.”

“Blaze,” Jaxon says, getting up from his stool and walking toward me. “We need to shelve this conversation before you give Kane a heart attack.” I look closer at Kane, and he’s gripping the counter so hard that his knuckles are white. “You have to go easy on the surprises with the old man.”

Kane narrows his eyes at Jaxon. “I’ll remind you again not to call me old,Litso kukly.”

“So, we aren’t getting married?” I ask, not even trying to hide my disappointment.

“I didn’t say no,” Kane says, and it’s Jaxon’s turn to whip around in surprise. “I just don’t think now is the time.”

“Oh.” I walk over and flop on the stool. “Well, that sucks.”

Eli squeezes my thighs. “I think he just means we need to find out who the traitor is first. Right, Kane?”

Jaxon raises his hand. “I never said yes.”

“Because I didn’t ask,” Kane retorts. “When that day comes, you will be mine.”

“Aren’t you just romantic,” Jaxon replies.

“Maybe I should have taught you more of a lesson,” Kane threatens.

“Oh, spank me, Daddy.”

I bust out laughing despite myself. “His smart mouth is back.”

Kane shakes his head and looks at me. “Despite you surprising me with this, I’m not disagreeing. We need to tie up a few more loose ends before we tie the fucking knot.”

“I still have yet to hear you ask me to marry you,” Jaxon says.

“You’ve more than proved your spot at my side, and that’s where I’ll always intend for you to be.”

“So you just want me to fall in line? Where’s the romance, Kane?”

“You want me to drop to my knee and give you a ring?” Kane starts walking toward Jaxon, and I watch Jaxon struggle not to back up. “Or do you just want me to declare that I want you to marry me and give this back?” Kane digs into his pocket and pulls out Jaxon’s collar. “This needs to go back where it belongs.”

“Oh, shit,” Jaxon gasps. “Are you serious?”

Kane puts it around his neck and pushes the lock until it closes. “This time it doesn’t come off.”

“Never.” Jaxon wraps his arms around Kane’s neck, and I can see his shoulders shaking with emotion. “I love you, Kane.”

“I love you too,Litso kukly.”

I can’t take it anymore and jump from my stool. I run to them and wrap my arms around them. “I love you both!”
