“Don’t tempt me,” Jaxon answers. “The only reason I’m not is because it implicates them. And I also have proof that you’re the one behind this whole thing.”
“Kane, I’ve never seen him before in my life.”
Before I can react, Jaxon punches Carls in the face. Blaze jumps from the arm of the chair and whoops. “Holy shit, Baby, that was hot.”
Jaxon pushes in close to Carls’ pissed-off face. “Let me tell you something. When the time comes to put a bullet in your brain, it will be my eyes you’re looking into. One, for putting me in this position, and two, for thinking you can take my man down.”
I stand from the couch and pull Jaxon to stand, then place my hand on the base of his spine. “Don’t even think about running or telling anyone Jaxon’s been made. I’ll hunt you to the ends of the earth for what you did to him. Until then, you better make damn sure I have a clear path to do what I please.”
We make it to the door before Carls grows some balls. “You think Jaxon was the only one? Where do you think we got all the information? Someone close to you is spilling all your dirty fucking family secrets, and you’re worried about me? You might as well kill me now, Kane.”
Jaxon freezes on the spot when I whirl around. I have Carls by the throat before he can blink. “You were going to get to live to say goodbye to your family, but you fucked up now. Blaze, grab him, and we’ll take him to the house.”
Blaze skips over to Carls, and Jaxon has to bite off a laugh. “This is going to be so much fun!”
It might be fun for us, but Captain Carls is about to die bloody.
After he tells me who else is betraying me.
CHAPTER33
JAXON
Iwatch Kane and Blaze get a passed-out Captain Carls tied up in the basement. I know it should bother me, but this man tried to get me killed. He didn’t care what happened to me as long as he could take Kane down in the process. The thought of that now makes me see fucking red.
I’m still surprised that Kane and Blaze openly talked in front of me this morning, much less let me go to Carls’ house with them. Something changed between all of us at the club last night, and I’m more than ready to start my life with them again.
I discovered a few things about Blaze and the voices during my research. One of the main things that I read was giving them some semblance of control. With Blaze, that is letting his dominant nature out. It was also a chance to give Blaze my trust. I was never really sure about public play, but I knew that Blaze liked it. I’d do anything to never see the look in his eyes that he had when he threatened to shoot himself. I’m here to prove to them that I’m all in, no matter what I have to do or how bloody I need to get.
Kane steps back from Carls and crosses his arms over his chest. “How do we want to do this?” he asks Blaze.
“I think Jaxon should question him.” I look at him, shocked, and he smiles. “Come on, Baby. You were badass back there, and he didn’t get pissed off until he talked to you.”
“I don’t want to let you guys down if he doesn’t answer my questions.”
Blaze twirls a knife between his fingers. “There’s other ways to make him talk.”
Kane gestures for me to come to him. I walk over, and he pulls me against him with my back to his chest. “It’s your call,Litso kukly.”
“What do you need to know specifically?”
“Who else in my ranks is betraying me.”
“I think he’ll tell me more if you guys aren’t down here.”
“I won’t leave you alone with him, Jaxon.”
“He’s tied up, and you can stay in the observation room.”
Blaze kisses me hard. “You’ve got this, Baby.” He holds his knife out for me, hilt first. “This is my favorite one. You should have it.”
“Blaze—”
“You don’t even have to use it. Just keep it for good luck. I love you, Baby.”
“I love you too.”
“Come on, Daddy.” Blaze slaps Kane on the ass and laughs while leaving the basement.
