His work could change theworld.

Stop the utter stupidity that was humanity now. They way Gregory had been meant to do. He had been born to fix the world. Now it was time to do that.

“Get rid of them. They have outlived their usefulness. And I cannot bear the burdens of them any longer." He would just make more. As many as he needed.

Better ones. Far lessflawed.Theperfectones.

Then Phase II would continue.

It would take Vaughn less than thirty minutes to have the place going up in flames.

Gregory knew that.

They had worked out a plan before.

In the meantime...

He had some messes upstairs of his own in his office to clean up.

They’d dumpedher in an exam room and left her there. Locked her in, but hadn’t bothered to take the time to secure her hands.

Stupid idiots.

That old bastard had looked Sydney over, like a pig for the slaughter. He’d even grabbed her hips and measured how wide her pelvis was. With his sweaty hands. Cupping her hips, kneading her rear end, saying “Good, good, good. Beautiful girl. She’ll do nicely.”

Creepy old perverted bastard.

He’d liked having his hands on her, too. She’d seen it in his eyes.

Sydney had to find a way out of there. That jackass was going to come back for her. It was just a matter of time.

She didn't like the idea of what he would do to her then.

And Pen. Pen was in here somewhere. Sydney was going to find her.

Or she’d die trying.

The idea that that could be a reality sank in fast. She wasn't playing around here. No one was.

This was real.

Jo-Jo and Grace and Gerard could already be gone. The bodyguard Jimmy and both of Pen's guards could be dead.

That was a reality.

Butshewasn't dead yet. And maybe Pen wasn't either. Pen was here somewhere. Sydney was going to get her out and back to her family where Pen belonged.

Terror threatened. But her sisters had survived some seriously dangerous situations. She could, too.

A part of Sydney had always been a bit competitive. Melody had teased that it was because she was the baby and always had to keep up.

Melodywouldn't just give up here at all.

She'd keep going until she saw her four beautiful, wonderful, brilliant, awe-inspiring big sisters again. And then she’d tell them all again how much she loved them.

She really wanted her big sisters right now.
