Page 36 of Betrayal and Ruin

“I suggest,” my voice is low and menacing, “you leave. Don’t involve yourself in my business again. That goes for all my business.”

I can’t prove they had something to do with the problems at my dispensary, yet, but my gut tells me they do. If I would have had a little more time to pull this all together I would have them dead to rights. As it is, because Roisin’s family is involved, I’m willing to give them the chance to walk away.

When I shove Lorcan with the grip I have on his neck, he stumbles back into his son. I turn my icy glare on Cillian. “Consider our business dealings done. I suggest you don’t try and go to anyone for more firepower. You’ll find a lot of doors are now closed to you.”

I can see I’ve struck a nerve from the way his face darkens in anger, but I also know the man is smart enough to know what battles he can win…and lose. He was never going to come out on top in this fight. He should have known it from the start, but he was blinded by his own righteousness.

Such a pity.

Cillian straightens the lapels of his coat before turning on his heel, expecting the man he has left to watch his back. I wink at the man as Lorcan and Finn scurry to follow Cillian out of my warehouse. Cillian’s lackey brings up the rear, but I see fear in the man’s eyes.

He should check his own loyalties, but it’s not really my concern.

When quiet descends on the warehouse again, Ronan lets out an overexaggerated sigh. “I didn’t even get to kill anyone, boss,” there’s a whine in his voice which has me barking out a laugh along with Conor.

I start to head toward the door and call out over my shoulder, “But you do get clean-up detail.”

To many it wouldn’t be the best job to have, but Ronan loves getting his hands dirty. I don’t have to look back to know his face is filled with glee. Conor follows me out and we climb into my car to head home.

My woman is safe now and those who thought they could use her to get to me have been shown the error of their ways. I have no doubt that Cillian, Lorcan, and even Finn, will continue to fight for their cause. I wasn’t bluffing when I told them finding weapons would be more difficult for him now.

I’ve already talked to Elio and between us Cillian Murphy will find himself blacklisted from arms dealers up and down the Eastern Seaboard and we’ll tap into some contacts we have on the West coast as well.

Will it make him rethink his violent death march toward independence? I doubt it, but he will realize he fucked with the wrong man. It was all for Roisin, though. Now she’s free.

When I walk into my house, it’s too quiet, but I know where to find my woman. I smile when I walk into our bedroom and find her curled up near the headboard, a book in her hands I doubt she’s even reading. Her gaze snaps to mine and she leaps from the bed without hesitation, throwing herself at me, not caring that I have blood sprayed on my clothes.

“It’s done,” it’s not a question falling from her lips, it’s a statement.

She looks at my clothes and I expect questions to rain down on me, but she only gives me a nod, grabs my hand, and leads me into the bathroom. Her hands are soft and gentle as she strips me and then herself before she turns on the shower and tugs me in behind her.

When she reaches for the shampoo, I grip her hips and slam her against the cold tiles. The way her back arches presses her delicious tits against my chest, and I’m lost in everything she is.

“You’re mine,mo rós beag,” I growl, my cock sliding between her pussy lips. “Say it.”

Her arms loop around my neck and she smiles up at me. There’s no challenge in her eyes, only acceptance. “I’m yours, Declan,” she whispers.

As I capture her lips with mine, I fill her with my cock. Water rains down from above, washing the blood away, red trails of water that no longer matter. Roisin accepts every thrust and gives the same back to me. But she doesn’t realize she’s giving me more than I deserve.

Her trust.

Her love.

Everything.

I would kill for the woman in my arms and not think twice about it.

I piston my hips, fucking her faster and harder, our panting breaths almost as loud as the water against the tiled floor. It’s chaos and ruin, but in the best of ways.

I would have never turned my woman away. No matter the lies. No matter the destruction; I was built upon it anyway.

Within her betrayal, which was only for her own protection, she became my light.

“I love you,” I groan against her lips.

“Yes,” she moans, her pussy walls fluttering around my shaft, telling me just how close she is to her release.

“Marry me, Roisin.”
