My fingers tapped on the keyboard as I finished some emails. My foot tapped the floor.

Was Colt okay? Had he found Scott?

I picked up some paperwork, then set it back down. I was too churned up to be very effective. I pressed my fingers to my forehead.

What was wrong with Scott that he’d stalk a woman who wasn’t interested in him across the country? He needed help.

Colt would be fine. They didn’t come any more badass than my bounty hunter.

My heart flip-flopped. My bounty hunter? It wasn’t true, but I wanted it to be. The way he’d touched me in his office, had made me come, I wanted more.

I shivered. He thought he didn’t do relationships, but he was already taking care of me. And he was an amazing dad.

You promised him no complications, Macy.

The front door opened and I jerked my head up. When I saw it wasn’t Colt, my shoulders sagged.

A woman sauntered in, looking around with interest. The first thing that came to mind was biker babe. She was tall, curvy, with jeans that were long past too tight. Her white tank hugged her large breasts and she had big, brown hair. She looked a few years older than me, but it was hard to tell because she was wearing a lot of makeup.

“Hi, can I help you?”

“So this is Colton’s office. Wow.” She did a slow circle. That’s when I noted she was carrying a small container.

“Ah, yes. Did you want to make an appointment?”

“Oh, I just really wanted to see him and give him a gift.” The woman touched her tongue to her lip.

My stomach did a weird turn. Was this an ex? “Do you know Colt?”

“I’m hisbiggestfan. I’m Marsha. I’m head of his online fan club.”

I blinked. I’d teased Colt about his fan club, but I hadn’t expected to meet the head of it.

“We all justlovebounty hunters. Big, strong men who track down criminals.” Marsha gave an exaggerated shiver. “Doesn’t hurt that the man is gorgeous with a very big G.” She winked. “And I’m sure other things are big too.”

Sitting back in my chair, I kept watching the woman. She was a groupie. In love with the image, but had no idea what the real man was like. She had no idea that he was dedicated, a good dad, a loyal brother, protective.

“Well, Colt’s out, so I’ll let him know you stopped by, Marsha.”

The woman’s gaze narrowed a little. “You can’t have him.”

“Excuse me?”

“Little thing like you isn’t enough woman for a man like Colton Fury.” She tossed her hair back over her shoulder.

“You don’t even know Colt past his photo. Look, it’s time for you to leave.”

I saw a bunch of emotions cross Marsha’s face, too fast for me to tell exactly what she was thinking.

Finally, she blew out a breath and smiled. It wasn’t a real one. “Sorry, I just… I’m obsessed with Colton. I just know he’s a good guy. I didn’t mean to be a bitch.”

I softened a little. Colt was enough to go to any woman’s head. “Okay.”

“Here.” She set the plastic container down on my desk and pulled off the lid. “I made these brownies for him. But you try one. As an apology.”

“Okay.” I had to admit the brownies looked good. “All right, fine.” I took a piece of chocolatey goodness. I bit in and raised my brows. It tasted good. The woman was smiling at me. “These are great.”

Marsha’s smile widened. She looked very pleased with herself. “You give the rest to Colton, now. Bye.” She sauntered out, denim-clad hips swaying.
