Not far from here. I swiveled and headed for the SUV.

“I’ll meet you there,” Boone said.

Soon, although not soon enough for me, we were speeding toward the address. What the fuck had Macy been thinking?

She’d been thinking that I blamed her. Thinking that she could save Daisy.

I closed my eyes. If something happened to Macy, to either of them…

“Go faster, Reath.”

My brother touched the console on the dash.

“Boss?” a deep voice said.

“Linc, need you to smooth the way for us.”

“You got it.”

Ahead, the traffic light turned green. The next one did the same. And the next one.

My cellphone rang and I saw Macy’s name.

Thank fuck. My heart jumped. “Macy?”

“Daddy.”

“Daisy, baby.” My hand clenched on the phone. “Are you all right?”

“I got out.” Her voice was shaky. “Daddy, Macy got me out.” A hiccupping sound. “He’s got her. The bad man has Macy. She made me run.”

Fuck. The plastic creaked in my grip. “Where are you?”

“I don’t know. On a street.”

“We’re tracking the phone,” Reath said. “She’s near the address. Tell her to hide until she sees us.”

“Daisy, find somewhere safe where the bad man can’t see you. I’m coming.”

“Okay. There’s a fence.” She paused. “Daddy, Macy—”

“I’m coming. I’m coming for you and Macy.”

She let out a shuddering breath. “All right.”

It was the longest drive of my life. I sucked in several deep breaths trying to stay calm.

Daisy was alone. And Warner had Macy.

I locked it down the best I could. My girls needed me.

Finally, Reath screeched to a halt. I leaped out of the SUV. Nearby, a black Ford Mustang pulled up and Boone climbed out.

“Daisy!”

My little girl flew out from behind a fence and sprinted toward me, her arms pumping.

I closed the distance and swept her into my arms.
