Thank God.

“Daddy.” She was crying. The tears rolling down her face killed me.

“You’re safe now, short stuff. I’ve got you.”

“I’m not afraid now.” She pressed her small hands to my cheeks and stroked my beard. “I knew you’d come for me.”

My heart swelled. “Always. We all will.”

She shot me a tremulous smile and glanced at her uncles. Then her smile vanished. “You need to get Macy, Daddy.”

“I know.” I set her down. “Stay with Uncle Dante. I’m going to get Macy.”

She nodded.

I kissed her cheek. “My brave girl.” I handed her to Dante.

Over her head, my brother nodded. “Go get your woman. We’ll be waiting for you.”

I turned and eyed the house down the street.

“Plan?” Reath’s face was set, focused.

“Reath, you, Kav, and Beau go around the back,” I said. “Boone and I will go in the front.”

Boone was former special forces. Exactly the man you wanted beside you in a fight. And I trusted my brothers to have my back and ensure Warner didn’t get away.

My brothers nodded. No questions asked. Boone met my gaze and lifted his chin.

I’m coming, Macy.

MACY

My heart beat so loudly it was all I could hear.

“You’re so stupid, Macy. You need to learn to listen.” Scott’s hands were still at my throat.

His fingers hurt where they dug into my skin, and my lungs burned.

But Daisy was free. Colt would find her. They’d be fine.

The two people I loved would be fine.

Oh, God.I loved Colton Fury. Every grumpy inch of him.

I looked into Scott’s eyes. I wasn’t sure what I’d once seen there. But as I stared at him, I vowed I wasn’t going to die here, alone, in this vacant building.

I had a life to live, on my own terms. Not Scott’s, not my mother’s, mine.

I rammed my knee up between his legs. It was a decent hit, and Scott yelled, releasing me.

“You don’t get to hurt me, asshole! Or dictate my life. I’m not stupid, and I don’t need to learn anything. You do. You don’t hit women. You don’t kidnap little girls.”

He made an ugly sound and charged me.

Oh, shit.
