“I guess we’re one person short,” Hayden comments.

“Becky!” Emmett yells. She turns around, clearly rolling her eyes. “What?”

“Wanna play with us?”

Even from here, I can see the excitement shine in her eyes. Rebecca was always our biggest supporter, being at almost every game and practice. I saw first-hand how people brushed her off because she was a girl, but she put them in their place really quickly because that girl knew her football.

“Yes!” She does a little excited dance before she and Nico finally decide to join us. “Who are we playing with?”

“You are with Hayden, and Nico is with us,” Emmett points out.

“Perfect.” She rubs her hands together. “I get to kick your asses.”

Just then, she looks down at herself. “Shit, I guess I should get rid of this.”

Before my brain realizes what she’s saying, she grabs thehem of her dress, pulling it over her head, and leaving her only in a freaking black bikini.

Fuck. My. Life.

REBECCA

“Okay, let’s do this,” Hayden says, and we all clap hands together as we turn around to take our positions.

Kate cheers loudly from the sideline with Penelope and Henry next to her, grinning at me. The rest of our friends have grabbed blankets and moved closer to our makeshift field so they could watch the show.

Turning forward, I almost stumble over my own feet when I see the man standing on the other side.

Miguel.

Seriously, it’s not fair how good that man looks. His skin has a golden hue from being in the sun. His shoulders are wide, each muscle and line defined to perfection. He ditched his shirt at some point earlier today and is showing off his naked chest, narrow waist, carved abs and that deep V that leads to a pair of bright red swim trunks that hang low on his hips.

My teeth graze over my bottom lip as my gaze falls lower.

Way too low.

I shift my weight from one foot to the other, but it doesn’t help relieve the ache rising between my thighs.

How is it that it’s barely been a few days, but I already wanted to jump his bones? You’d think I didn’t have practice staying away from the man. Only now that we crossed that lineand had sex, I couldn’t stop thinking about the way his hands felt on my body or how much I craved his kisses.

Get a grip, Becky, before somebody realizes where your head’s at.

I force my gaze up, but not fast enough.

Miguel’s eyes meet mine, and if I’m to believe the dark, hungry look shining in his irises, he’s thinking about the very same thing. One dark brow quirks up almost imperceptibly, and I know he caught me checking him out. His eyes slowly take me in from head to toe, and he likes what he sees.

“Was that really necessary?” he asks in that husky voice of his that I swear I can feel to my very core.

“Was what necessary?”

“The bikini.”

The...

I prop my hands against my hips. “Miguel Luis Fernandez, you did not just tell me to go and cover up!”

“Shit, she pulled out the middle name,” somebody chuckles softly.

“It’s never good when they bring out the middle name. That’s when you know you really fucked up.”
