“This is amazing.” Nodding, he smiled, refusing to let the past bring him down. “You know, I haven’t eaten seafood since my last shift at the Shack.”

“Seriously?”

“It brought back too many memories and I figured it was smarter to just avoid it, rather than eat it and get angry about it.” Ginny’s mouth was turned down slightly and Gavin reached across the table to grab her hand. “I didn’t say it to make you sad!”

“I know, but those were some of the best times.”

“They were. But they were hard, you know? Every item on this plate holds a certain story in my mind. And all of them featured you.”

Because of all the sneaking around, Gavin and Ginny would always eat a plate of shellfish behind the restaurant. They’d be spilling food everywhere, sauce dripping down their chins and kisses tasting like crab or shrimp afterwards. To him, those Crab Shack encounters were always such a treat, because he knew that she’d come into town with her friends, but abandoned them for some time with him. Whether it was the free food or to really see Gavin wasn’t important, not at the time anyway, but he cherished those memories.

“Didn’t realize you were so sentimental, but I get it.”

Shrugging, Gavin offered her a smile. Because they weren’t going to linger on the hard stuff anymore. They were moving forward and they were growing up from everything that had happened. After all, they were on adateand about to dig into the most delicious looking platter of seafood he’d ever seen.

“But truly, Nia, this is amazing. Thank you.”

“I’m glad,” she said, smiling softly as she stretched out and clinked her beer against his. “Don’t stuff yourself, because there’s one more stop before this date is over.”

“You know I’m going to spend the rest of the meal trying to guess what it is, right?”

She wiggled her shoulders with a smirk. “If you get it right, there might be a surprise in store for you.”

He narrowed his eyes at her and Ginny chuckled, pulling her hair back into a ponytail. When she took off her jacket, his eyes were drawn to her breasts again and Gavin grunted as he took his jacket off as well. The only downside to this kind of food was that you couldn’t take your eyes off what you were eating, in case you poked yourself on a shell or swallowed a bit of it. So there was barely any conversation between him and Ginny, just grunts and sighs of approval.

When they’d cleared out the large serving dish of seafood, Gavin slumped back in his chair and licked his fingers clean. One bucket was full of shells and the other one still held most of their beers—they’d had two beers each, but stopped with the intention of being able to drive to the next destination.

And Gavin was satisfied.

Roberto swung by once to check on them and when they couldn’t speak because their mouths were full of food, he’d smiled and clapped. The magic these guys worked, it had done the job of winning Gavin over.

“Whatever you have planned next is going to have to wait,” Gavin told Ginny, a burp escaping as he stretched slightly.

Ginny echoed his burp and laughed. “There’s no food involved, but it’ll definitely help digest everything we’ve just stuffed ourselves with.”

“I don’t think sex on a full stomach is a good idea.”

“You think I’m letting you anywhere near my bloated body right now?”

Smiling, Gavin let his eyes settle on Ginny as she stretched. His mind was already conjuring up different ways he could strip her naked and have his way with her. But Gavin was too full to even consider sex. If he was being absolutely honest, sex with Ginny was always in the forefront of his mind, but it hadn’t overpowered all his other thoughts in a while. Mostly because Gavin was still processing the fact that he had another shot with her, so he wasn’t going to blow it on being horny and desperate to get his hands on her incredible body.

He was also still pretty giddy about the fact that Ginny had planned this whole ‘second chance’ date for them. Because he’d never considered Ginny a romantic. In the past, he was the one that always came up with ways for them to spend time together. So this turn of events made him smile.

A waiter came by and dropped off a stack of wet wipes which they used to clean their hands and mouth. The smell would linger, but at least the butter and oil would be gone by the time they got to wherever Ginny was taking him next. The check appeared and even as Gavin pulled his wallet out, Ginny was already signing a piece of paper and grinning at him.

“You didn’t have to pay.”

She shrugged, still wiping her hands clean. “You paid for Mama Renata’s.”

“Ah, so you agree that was our first date.”

“Nope.” She popped thepand grinned. “But you still paid for that and in case you missed it, I get paid really big bucks for doing my job.”

“You’re just showing off now.”

Ginny laughed and pushed her chair back to stand, Gavin’s gaze trailed up her body. Everything about Ginny’s body made his head spin; her dangerous curves, her soft stomach and her shapely ass. As a teenager, he’d happily let her squeeze his head between her thick thighs when he ate her out. As an adult, Gavin wanted that and so much more. It didn’t even matter that not too long ago, he’d got to relive a lot of those fantasies, Gavin still ached for her that way. He wanted to dig his fingers into her soft and supple skin, leave his imprint on her and trace every stretch mark that showed just how much her body had grown since he’d last known her.
