“You are the most impressive human I have ever met and I was born to Juniper and Elijah Rhodes.”

“Can I tell your parents that you think I’m more impressive than them?”

Gavin smirked. “They’d probably agree with me. But seriously, Nia, you are incredible. How long does it take you to put a photoshoot like this together?”

Shrugging, Ginny swiped out of the post he was looking at to pick the one with Copper and smiled. “This one took a lot longer, because the little hellion was trying to eat all my wires. But between outfit, light and location changes…anywhere close to three or four hours? Sometimes I already know what I’m going to do, so I set everything up for that and then go through the outfit changes, which takes a lot less time. But it’s still very time consuming.”

“Have I been taking up all your shoot time on the weekends?”

“Not really. I don’t have a specific day that I do this, I just work when I can and sometimes that happens to be at night after a long day at work. Other times it’s on the weekends. Besides, I wouldn’t trade all the time I’ve spent with you for anything.”

He smiled wide, happy with her answer. Gavin kissed the top of her head and kept scrolling through her profile, whistling every now and then at the picture he stopped at. Ginny rolled her eyes, but also fought back a smile at the realization that Gavin had reacted completely differently from what she predicted. Sure, he was upset that she’d kept it a secret from him, but instead of getting defensive and aggressive, he tried to understand why she did it. And hesawher for who she really was.

Maybe this feeling in her chest wasn’t just affection. Maybe it was exactly what she’d been afraid it would be—love.

Truthfully, she wasn’t reallyafraidof it either.

“In fact…hold on,” Ginny told him and reached for her phone before settling back beside him. She draped her legs over his thighs, letting the slit in her dress flaunt her bare thigh. “Gimme your hand.” Gavin held one hand out to her and she slipped her fingers between his and then set their linked hands in line with their legs. Through her camera screen, she made sure they were set up properly and then clicked.

“What are you doing?” Gavin asked, leaning over as she did a quick color correction of the picture and uploaded it to her Instagram stories.

“Giving the world a glimpse of the person that makes me happy.” She didn’t have to look at Gavin to know he had that stupid smile on his face, but she made sure to tag the Rhodes Pet Shelter before setting her phone down. “Thank you, by the way.”

He frowned, shaking his head as his hand moved up and down over her thigh. “You can sprawl all over me any time.”

“You know that’s not what I meant.” Ginny laughed and poked him in the side.

“This is part of who you are, you still don’t need to thank me.”

Ginny sighed at how adorably clueless he was being. “Thank you for not fighting with me about it. For not turning this into something aboutyou. I love doing this, making a difference and talking to others who struggle like I do. I don’t do it for the money or the fame, but those are good bonuses. When I was a kid or a teenager, having someone tell me that I was perfect just as I was would have made such a difference. Having you worry about me, while upset that I kept it a secret, but also being supportive was so much more than you’ll ever know.”

Gavin cupped her jaw, his eyes searching hers and Ginny frowned slightly. “Everyone in your life who has ever made you feel anything less than spectacular needs to talk to me. I’ll set them straight.”

A laugh burst out of her and Ginny climbed into his arms, hands framing his face as she kissed him. Gavin had been a conscientious teenager, but as an adult he was proving to be the kind of man any woman would be lucky to have in her life.

Besides, shewas the lucky one that got to keep him and she had no plans to let him go.

CHAPTER28

“How many was that?”

“Six.”

“That’s it?”

“Six for you, three for me.”

“That makes more sense,” she mumbled. “Explains the sensitivity on the inside of my thighs.”

“Maybe I should shave off my beard.”

“Don’t you fucking dare. The beard burn is my favorite part.”

“That’s disappointing. I thought my dick was your favorite part.”

“Okay, well…” her words were interrupted by a squeal, followed by a gigglesnort as he dug his fingers into her sides and tickled her. “Stop! Oh my god, I can’t breathe!”

Gavin released Ginny and settled back into the bed, his head nestled comfortably on one of her absolutely soft pillows. A moment later, Ginny returned to where she’d been tucked into his side with a contented sigh. They’d been in bed for close to eighteen hours, leaving the comfort of the soft mattress only to use the bathroom, get liquids into their system and pick up DoorDash deliveries. Neither of them wanted or needed anything else anyway—Cedar and Copper were snoozing in the hallway outside the bedroom and Gavin and Ginny were snuggled up in her bed.
