She moaned again and brought her hands up to wrap around his biceps as her mouth flowered open, and his tongue explored the warm velvety softness within. He stroked her tongue with his, and she returned the caress, stepping even closer. His free hand moved down her spine until it cupped the curve of her ass, pressing her lower body into his so she could feel the strength and size of his response, throbbing inside his jeans.

Delaney’s entire being responded to him. He could feel the beginnings of the bonding link begin to blossom as her body softened and readied itself for his. He could smell her arousal, and no scent had ever been so sweet.

“Excuse me,” said a tired old woman with gray hair, wrinkled skin, and a disdainful eye. “If you two insist on doing that in a public place, at least do it where you aren’t blocking an aisle.”

Delaney broke away, but not as though she wanted to. His entire being wanted his response to their separation to be swift, intimidating, and violent, although the old woman looked like she’d croak if he let his eyes go all dragony.

Before he could say something incredibly rude and insulting, Delaney returned to him, wrapped both of her arms around his, and nestled her backside against his straining cock. “He keeps telling me he is not going to fuck me in the grocery store, but I keep trying to tempt him anyway.”

The old woman looked mortified, harrumphed and stalked away, pushing her cart and calling for a manager.

“Oh dear,” said Delaney, laughing. “I think I may have given her a stroke.”

“Nah, if she’d had a stroke, she’d have hit the ground, but you may never be able to shop here again.”

“Not the worst thing. I think I want to like this store and its products more than I actually do, but I’m going to have to stop somewhere to get something for dinner. Maybe fast food.”

“I think I can do better than the local burger joint,” he teased. “What’s the best restaurant in town?”

“The Sammamish Grille. Best food, casual ambiance, but expensive.”

“Sounds perfect. I think we better skedaddle. I can hear the old biddy bringing the manager. I’m a little afraid she may have him by the earlobe.”

“You could be right. I understand she was the headmistress in a private school before coming here.”

Taking her hand, Tevryn took off for the door with Delaney running along behind him, keeping up with him and not letting go of his hand. They escaped out the door and Tevryn guided her to his SUV. He drew her in, spun her around, and pressed her back into the vehicle as he brought his head down for another kiss—a long, lazy, luxurious kiss that made him never want it to end.

This time her tongue was the aggressor and tangled with his as she brought her hands up to grasp his jacket and pull him closer. He covered her body with his. She moved him in a way no woman or drakaina ever had. As much as his cock was swearing it would die if it didn’t get into her in the next few minutes, Tevryn was quite sure he could spend the rest of eternity doing nothing more than kissing her.

He unlocked the door. “Get in and then tell me how to get to the Sammamish Grille.”

She laughed with a little embarrassment. “I’m not sure what came over me…”

“Destiny. It just washed over the both of us.”

“I don’t know that I should get in the car of a stranger—a man I don’t know.”

“Don’t you?” he said, quirking his eyebrow up. “I think we’ve known each other forever. I think our souls recognized each other at the celebration. I don’t know about you, but my thoughts, dreams, and fantasies have been filled with you.”

“You could be a very charming serial killer.”

“True. Or I could be Prince Charming, or your knight in shining armor, or even the dragon.”

She laughed, the tension seeming to drain away from her body. “I have to tell you; I always thought the dragon would be the best bet. Can you imagine flying away in the dead of the night with a dragon up to his mountain lair where his breath of flames lights a fire and then roasts marshmallows?”

“Why stop at marshmallows? We can get graham crackers and chocolate bars and make s’mores.”

Delaney laughed harder. “Oh my god, do you have any idea how much I love s’mores?”

He laughed with her. “Duly noted, but first, get in the SUV and tell me how to get to the Sammamish Grille. If I’m going to ravish your body, you’re going to need sustenance. Besides, would a serial killer be planning how to stop by a grocery store romantically and pick up the necessary items to make you s’mores?”

She was serious for a moment as she searched his face and then seemed to make a decision. “Point taken,” she said as she opened the door and somehow managed to slide from the driver’s seat to the passenger seat without looking awkward.

He slid into the driver’s seat, closed the door, and started the engine, driving to the exit and waiting for her direction. She pointed to the left.

“End of the road. Down by the lake. You can’t miss it.” He nodded and pulled out into traffic as Delaney pulled her phone out of her pocket, snapped a quick picture of him, and dialed someone. “Lucy? My sister,” she said pointing at the phone. “Yes. He’s gorgeous. This is Tevryn. He’s taking me to the Sammamish Grille and then said something about ravishing me and feeding me s’mores.”

She didn’t wait for her sister to respond before ending the call and grinning at him. They pulled into the parking lot for the restaurant, and Tevryn parked, pulled out his own phone, snapped her picture, and called Warrick.
