“Don’t worry about him,” Mitch said to her mother. “You know the school bills will always be paid as long as Vanessa is around.”

“We’re very grateful to her. I hope she knows that.”

“You wouldn’t have this without her.”

Penny’s smile drew tight. “I’m well aware.”

Mitch hadn’t said that to put her mother in her place. She knew Penny understood what that meant.I wouldn’t have any of this without Vanessa, either. There was always one part of Mitch that was prepared to wake up and discover it was a dream. The kisses, the hugs, the sex…

The money, the house, the security. Things Mitch never thought she’d have. Things that had changed her and allowed her to focus on the part of her that required the most attention.

Whenever she thought too much about potentially losing Vanessa one day, she fell beneath her own spell.I love her more than anyone else.Vanessa was more than her partner. She was Mitch’s Domme, the woman who knew her better than anyone possibly could. Vanessa reached into the depths of Mitch’s tragedy and touched a part of her that had never been awakened by anyone else. Because of her, Mitch had discovered a side to herself that would have probably remained suppressed without Vanessa’s gentle supervision. And with Vanessa? Everything was the holy trinity of safe, sane, and consensual. They never did anything without both of them being on board and understanding what was at stake should things sour.

Because it could happen. It had happened. There were evenings when they went out expecting the usual good time but came home early because Mitch couldn’t handle it. Not even with the shield of her persona to protect her from the negative thoughts that often plagued her.

There was no one else like Vanessa. Death was the only way they would separate one day, and even that was temporary. Mitch couldn’t imagine herself being with any other woman. Certainly, no other Domme would treat her like the oppressed princess Mitch was deep down. They wouldn’t understand her trauma the way Vanessa could.

And the way they made sweet, simple, vanilla love… well, Vanessa was hot, right?

Mitch was not one of the last to go to bed that night, but she beat her two younger brothers, who were once again entranced by a video game that Mitch had no interest in learning about. She went upstairs, careful to be quiet when passing her sister’s room and saying goodnight to her mother, whose bedroom door was promptly closed. Inside her own room, Vanessa was missing. The sounds of the shower across the hallway insinuated that she wasn’t far behind joining Mitch in bed, though.

It was cool enough that the added fan blasting white noise into the room was enough for Mitch to take off her leggings but leave on her sweatshirt as she climbed beneath the covers. The polyester sheets didn’t feel strange to her bare legs, but she still chuckled to think of Vanessa making afacewhenever she came into contact with synthetic fibers.

Mitch was half asleep when the door creaked open and softly clicked closed again. The lock was turned. Mitch turned over in the bed, pulling the covers up to her chin as she tucked in her legs to give Vanessa room to climb in. The scent of her partner’s familiar bodywash kept Mitch calm as Vanessa finished getting ready for bed in the dark.

Like a panther, she prowled into the bed and curled up behind Mitch, who had anticipated her presence long before she drew her previous breath.

Mitch said nothing as one warm hand pushed up her sweatshirt and groped her.

There was a reason they honored the safe word system more than some other couples and didn’t consider it a terrible thing when it was used: Mitch wasn’t a woman who wanted to be asked a hundred times if she was okay, if she liked it, if she needed it. She loved the tacit understanding that Vanessa could start making love to her without announcement.Anywhere. Anytime. If Mitch really didn’t think it was a good idea or felt unwell, she uttered her safe word without fear of reprisal. Yet those moments were few and far between. Even when she was upset or in her head, Mitch craved her partner’s reassuring touch. The more sexual, the better.

Because sex was how Mitch best understood herself. Gone were the days when she attempted to lose herself with another woman she was only marginally attracted to. The old Mitch recognized the use of sex in healing herself, but it never worked out with a partner who didn’t understand that abouther. Not until Vanessa put up an ad on the dark web that Mitch responded to because she thought selling herself for a month was a decent way to make money for her family in the wake of their house burning down.

She never expected to fall in love. She never expected to find her soulmate, the woman who claimed her in ways Mitch never knew she needed.

Groping her breasts was akin to saying,“This is mine.”Feeling between her legs and pulling aside her underwear was the same as,“Give it to me, now.”When Vanessa wanted her partner’s body, she didn’t hesitate. She always had an uncanny way of knowing when exactly Mitch needed the most release.

“You better keep quiet.” The hand beneath Mitch’s sweatshirt snaked toward her mouth and clamped over her lips. “We don’t want to disturb the peace.”

This wasn’t the first time having sex in the family home. With the fan going full speed and most everyone either asleep or downstairs, Mitch wasn’t worried. She gladly accepted Vanessa inside of her, fingers dancing in the depths of lust and desire.

The hand on her mouth only muffled the slight moans bubbling in her throat. The rest of Mitch cried out for more, her brain slipping away from reality and her body so present that she risked forgetting where she was or what had brought her to this queen-sized bed covered in polyester and jersey.

She liked that, though.Give me random and unexpected.Craved it, even. Going out knowing that she would have vanilla sex at the end of the night was boring.Thiswas what got her going more often than not. Her woman, confident and unforgettable, laying claim to the fantasies always percolating in Mitch’s mind.

Vanessa wasn’t the only one who could get away with this, but she was the only one who did so without prior announcement.

Mitch’s leg didn’t know where to go. Not even when Vanessa grabbed it and pulled it over her hip, granting her easier access to the part of Mitch that was always given up so damn easily. There was a comment about her always being ready for some discerning stranger. Mitch gasped into Vanessa’s hand as she was penetrated by more than mere fingers. It was Vanessa’s dirty mouth that offered the most arousal. Because anyone could call Mitch Cruise a slut. Only Vanessa could make that the most phenomenal revelation to ever strike mankind.

In their dynamic, there were no requests. Mitch gave herself over, or she was taken. Vanessa directed the movements, the choreography that brought them closer together. Mitch’s body melded effortlessly into whatever embrace or position Vanessa demanded. She went from neutral to sexually ravenous in five seconds. The promise of her Domme’s touch wasn’t the only thing firing every cylinder in Mitch’s petite body. It was the assurance that everything she sought resided in this moment, this chapter in their lives together.

To be one was mesmerizing. To transcend the mortal understanding of sex and love wiped Mitch from Earth.

She groaned into Vanessa’s hand, her body liquid alongside the fluid machinations of one Domme who gave making love her all. Like Mitch, Vanessa had attempted to find salvation in other women who may not have been right for her. Yet it wasn’t until they found each other in that compound out in the woods that Vanessa realized her true destiny as well. With Mitch, she was the coolest woman in the room, the Domme who had such command of her pet that she could let Mitch roam the world without worry. Mitch always came back. She may have been the neighborhood cat who snuck through whatever window she pleased, beseeching sustenance and affection, but home was with Vanessa. Together, they beat the cold and harsh winters. They filled their quiet home with a deep love that left Mitch shattered with gratitude.

This was it. This was the pinnacle of perfection.

Vanessa knew how to draw a satisfying orgasm out of a simple situation. As Mitch melted into the bed, her skin sensitive and her core hot with more desire, they fell upon each other, neither one on top nor the other completely on the bottom. Mitch ensconced herself within Vanessa’s orbit, kissing her until she wasn’t sure if she had ever done anything else with her life.
