Too long.

Vanessa didn’t want what other women had been seeing lately, though. She wanted the delicate, idolatrous side of Mitch. The woman she was at home.

With me.

“Do you love me?”

Mitch tugged on the bottom of her shirt as she shifted her seat. “I’m obsessed with you.”

“That’s not what I asked.”

“I do.”

“I want to hear you say it.”

“I love you.”

She kept it short and sweet. Vanessa’s toes brushed against Mitch’s hair.

“I would die if anything happened to you,” Vanessa said in earnest. “You’re my whole world. And I would follow you to the ends of that world if it meant we were together, and you were mine.”

Mitch wrapped her arm around the end of the ottoman, head pressing down against her Mistress’s ankles. “You know I feel the same way about you, right?”

Vanessa kicked her feet off the ottoman, body lurching forward as her face came closer to Mitch’s. “I don’t. I’ll never know exactly what’s going through that head of yours. I love it while it simultaneously infuriates me. You know there will always be some part of me that’s insecure enough to think that I couldn’t be good enough for you. There are people in this reality who will try to take you away from me. It’s one thing for me to fight for you… but part of that battle is always proving to you that you should stay with me. Forever.”

“Nobody could take me from you,” Mitch claimed. “Only God can take you away from me, and I’m willing to believe in an afterlife if it means we’ll see each other again soon.”

“Don’t even talk like that…”

“It’s true.” Mitch’s hand wafted through the veil of Vanessa’s curls dangling between them. “I’m not in a hurry to die, but I wouldn’t fear it if you were already gone.”

Vanessa couldn’t speak.

“What can I do to prove to you that you’re the only one?”

The temptation to succumb to Mitch’s powerful spell was strong enough to fell lesser women, but Vanessa remained steadfast in her resolve. There are a hundred things I could ask of her.Mitch would do almost any of them. She was, after all, Vanessa’s well-trained pet who put all of her trust in one woman.

Yet Vanessa wasn’t after Mitch’s trust. She coveted her eternal affection.

“Kiss me in a way you would never kiss anyone else.”

As Mitch’s mouth eagerly inched toward Vanessa’s, she pulled back, allowing the chair to welcome her back into its grasp. Mitch clutched both arms of the chair before hoisting herself up into Vanessa’s lap. With nothing but her upper body strength to support her, Mitch straddled Vanessa, digging her knees against her partner’s thighs and finally coming down for that kiss.

It didn’t take Vanessa long to pull Mitch in closer, gravity their only friend as they fell back into the chair without a care. Even through her thick sweater, Vanessa felt every slight movement of Mitch’s body. Clothing honestly meant nothing.I feel her from across the room. Her vibration was stronger than the electricity in the air and the earth that may quake beneath their feet.

If this wasn’t domestic bliss, then she didn’t know what was.

Teeth nipped her ear and lips sucked her throat. Mitch was all-in with making love, and if Vanessa required proof that this was forever, then Mitch would prove it by permanently leaving her mark behind on the woman who had awakened her to the sweetest thing on Earth.

Vanessa was so close to touching her partner right between the legs. The only thing holding her back was a fear of losing herself.

“Do you want me?” Instead of going for the goal, Vanessa reached up beneath her partner’s shirt and caressed her breast. While she caught a nipple between her fingers, she asked again, “Do youneedme?”

Rarely did Mitch’s voice descend to such husky depths. “Always.”

Vanessa snatched the silver ring hanging from the front of Mitch’s collar and snapped them both to the attention. “If I denied you right now, would you shatter into pieces?”

“So many that even if you tried to put me together again, there would always be those missing parts. I’d always remember.”
