“Ohh, Gray, yes.” Her breathing was jerky and came in short bursts.

He pumped harder and her orgasm built, her body heated, and she fisted her hands as the sensations assaulted her. She heard his groaning and stilted breathing and sensed his orgasm nearing. She couldn’t hold out any longer. She hissed out a breath and stiffened as waves of pleasure rolled over her. She heard Gray groan and push himself all the way into her as his cock pulsed deep inside. She dropped her head onto the ottoman and Gray lay his head next to hers. They laid there until their labored breathing steadied.

After a few moments, he stirred. “Stay here. I’ll be right back.”

He pulled completely out of her, stood, and walked to the bathroom. She heard water running but did as he asked and stayed where she was. She was too weak to do anything else anyway. Soon Gray was back and wiped her up gently. When he finished, he lifted her up, carried her to the bed, laid her down and gently kissed her.

“I love you so much, Sam.” His voice was raspy and clogged with emotion.

She opened her eyes and watched him walk away to clean up. When he rejoined her, he wrapped her in his arms, and she sleepily snuggled close, happy and sated.

“I love you so much, Gray.”

He chuckled. “I never dreamed I would have this. I thought about it … hoped for it … but …”

They drifted off to sleep.

The next week flew by. They’d moved her clothes and bathroom supplies into his house—their house—on Monday. It was easy to make room for her stuff—the closet and the bathroom had plenty of room. Gray was so happy she was moving in that he simply didn’t care if he had to throw everything he owned away to make room for her. He just wanted her there.

Once all her clothing and bathroom supplies were moved, they walked through her house, and Sam told him what she wanted to keep and what didn’t matter to her. She asked, “Is there was anything you think will work at your place?”

“Our place, and yes, this desk will work, and the spare bedroom sets are better than the ones I have.”

The kids came and looked at the remaining furniture, taking what they wanted.

Next came the garage. They went through the tools and things she had. She would take most of them to use on the fourth floor. Gray had what tools he needed at home already, so they had the kids come and look at what remained of Tim’s tools to see if they wanted any.

Sam had to run to Appleton a couple of times to help Adam take care of their mother’s things. They had gotten rid of everything, cleaned out her apartment, and returned the keys to the landlord. That was finally wrapped up. Gray didn’t want Sam going to Appleton without him, but he had meetings both days that she went. He didn’t say anything, but he’d been worried that she would see Eric. She made sure to reassure him that she hadn’t, and he had to chuckle that she was so concerned about his feelings.

Sam got a call from Shelia that the inspection had gone well and everything was on track for the closing in two weeks. So, all in all, they were doing well.

Sam was at the house working one evening by herself. Gray had to work late and would join her when he was finished. About five-thirty, she walked to the mailbox to check it. She’d miss this location, it was more wooded than Gray’s place, but he had the sunlight and flowers which she didn’t get through the thick trees, so it was a good trade. She pulled mail from the box, and slowly flipped through the letters. A typed letter caught her attention—it looked like it was actually typed on a typewriter. No return address—weird. She opened the envelope to find a single sheet of white paper, which seemed to be typed with the same typewriter. As she began reading, her stomach twisted and her hands shook.

You’re making a mistake with Kinkaide. He’s making a mistake with you.

She read and reread the words again, turning the paper over to see if there was anything else. She heard the vehicle approaching, but she was completely engrossed in this letter. She looked through the stack of mail to see if there was another letter or something of a clue. She looked at the envelope again, and that’s when it hit her—no stamp. No postmark. Someone had been here. She turned her head to glance down the road and saw the truck approaching quickly. Her brain found it difficult to catch up with what was happening; as the dark colored vehicle was almost to her, she turned to run the few steps to her driveway.

Sam wanted to wake up and answer the questions being asked of her, but she couldn’t open her eyes. She floated in and out of consciousness, occasionally hearing a snippet of conversation. She heard several different voices and couldn’t grasp why these people were at her house.Oh, my God, was it moving day already?Sam panicked, her heart raced, then she heard beeping like she’d heard in Harry's room when he had heart surgery.Did I have heart surgery?I don't remember. Ouch! Her head hurt … a lot of commotion … then she was floating again.

She felt as though she was feeling better and she heard Gray talking softly to someone.

“I can't leave her until she wakes up and I can talk to her.”

He’s leaving me!Why? What did I do?She opened her eyes and saw Gray sitting in a chair bent over with his elbows on his knees, looking over at Mary and Harry. They wanted him to leave me? Her heart raced.

The beeping started again. Gray stood up and walked toward her.

“You're leaving me? Why? What did I do? Why are you leaving me?” She began crying, the tears spilling down her cheeks. Her head hurt, and her brain was foggy.

“No, no baby, settle down, it's not good for you. I would never leave you,” he cooed softly.

She put her hands on her head to stop the pain. Gray climbed into bed with her and wrapped his arms around her.
