“So,” he purred, crawling a hand up my arm. “What did I hear through that ring of yours about a pregnancy test back in Puerto Vallarta?”

I snorted. “Don’t get your hopes up. Your swimmers didn’t find their mark, dragon.”

Constantine growled, pulling me down to his side. “I always find my mark.”

“Is that really what we want?” I dropped my gaze, focusing on where I drew little circles on his bare chest. The bandage was inches away, covering a nasty hole over his left pec.

“I want a future with you, Talia. And that means I don’t want to skip on the finer things. Neither of us came from good families; it’s high time we remedied that.”

In a whisper, I confessed what was really holding me back. “I’m scared, Constantine.”

“So am I,” he murmured, pulling my forehead down for a kiss. “But we’re finally free. It’s time to live. And while we live, we’re going to create our own family—a dream come true out of this nightmare.”

“Amen to that.” I laughed softly. Tipping my head, I found his lips.

The End.
