We fled north, arriving here in this city, where eventually we’d been found by Uncle Isaac. It had been over fifteen years since I’d been back, and the memories were haunting as I walked the streets I once scrounged from.

Our flat in this town was even shittier than I remembered, and walking those streets served to remind me of all the terrible memories of my youth. When I finally tore myself away and made it back to the seaside mansion, I was in a black mood. I couldn’t go inside. I didn’t want the feeling of walls trapping me in, so I’d taken some time to simply breathe the ocean-laced night air. It was then in those quiet moments that my bride had found me. She said she’d only wanted to thank me, and the beast that I was, I let her. If I had been thinking straight, I shouldn’t have been so brutal, shouldn’t have used her mouth as my release.

It was hard not to notice that she liked it, which stoked the monster inside me more than the act itself. And seeing her lips around my dick as I thrust into her delectable mouth had been my undoing. The memory bit again, my body hardening once more.

Taking my clothes, I charged into the bathroom to wash my face. I was aware sleep would avoid me tonight, so I would hit the gym instead. Hard. The tap ran cold for a moment, but my erection refused to soften; Iryna’s mouth haunted my mind.

As the water from the sink began to steam, I ran a finger along my swollen length. A shudder racked my body. My dick knew it wasn’t her, but the touch accompanied with an image of her sensual body did the trick.

I fisted my dick and pulled hard. My guttural moan filled the bathroom. Giving in to my desire in the garden should have lessened the torment. Instead, I’d nearly lost control. Nearly taken my bride to the honeymoon suite...where death may have been waiting for me. There was no deception in my mind. I knew without a doubt that Talia was a trained killer. The way she’d handled that weapon and shot the gangster without hesitation was a red flag.

The knowledge burned. I didn’t want to believe that my fucking gorgeous wife was a killer. But has she ever been offered an alternative? It was possible her father had groomed her from birth, that she had no choice in the education she’d received. The way she reacted after killing the gangster had caused my chest to burn with anger. It was obvious she didn’t naturally gravitate to violence.

I saw red as I fucked my hand. How dare he forge that kind of life for her! I ached to give her freedom, a chance at a real life outside of his influence. And yet, even if someday I could free her, I didn’t think I could trust her. Ever.

But oh, how sweet it had been to take her saucy mouth. I rocked my hips into my hand, remembering the way I’d used her. How she’d willingly taken everything I gave. Seconds later, I exploded into the sink.

The mess was easily rinsed away, forgotten; but my mind was still busy. Confused and pissed by my desire, I cupped the scalding water and splashed it on my face. My skin tingled from the heat.Tomorrow will be better. I will regain my iron control.Talia, no doubt, had gone to sleep, thinking she’d finally budged an inch toward taking me.

She was wrong.

But then my brain taunted,Is she?

Chapter 21 – Constantine

“Any plans for yourafternoon?” I asked Talia. I’d found her eating her luncheon on the patio.

Talia pushed back her now empty plate and leaned back in her seat to consider me from beneath her thick lashes. “Nothing has been scheduled.”

I pulled out the chair opposite and sat down. It was impossible to look at her rosebud mouth without feeling desire race through my veins. I’d beat back the temptation to go to her last night by spending two brutal hours in the gym and then taking a long swim in the ocean. Being so close to her now, though, made it all come back.

But I wasn’t here for that. I had other plans.

“We should go sailing,” I suggested, testing her reaction.

Her brow quirked. “Sailing?”
