“And you’ll work for me, despite what your father wants you to do?” He sounded feral.

I couldn’t speak. I was so close, the climax right there. But I knew he was waiting; knew he wouldn’t reward me. I whipped my head up and down in affirmation and then screamed. Drakos drank in my release, extending my climax. As I fell from its sheer height, he teased me slightly, making me squeal. “Answer me,” he demanded. “In words this time.”

“Yes,” I gasped, writhing against him. It was too much—his fingers and mouth were too fucking much!

“You’re mine now, Talia.”

I came harder than I ever had before.

And the truth of it was, he wasn’t wrong.

Chapter 31 – Constantine

My sister was waitingin the sitting room off the foyer when we returned. Her glare was a physical blow, strong enough to put physical distance between me and my wife. Talia took one look at Iryna and walked swiftly up the stairs. A flicker of anger shot through my chest. This feminine strife was going to be my undoing. I was on a path that could win Talia to our side. While I was fiercely loyal to my sister and loved her for her unending protection of me, I needed her to get on board with the plan—which meant an unpleasant talk was in my immediate future.

“Con, where have you been?” Iryna snapped, jumping to her feet and descending upon me.

“Driving. Dining. Getting to know my wife.” I brushed past her into the sitting room. Making a beeline for the wet bar, I took a crystal bottle from the selection. I’d taken measures to ensure that all the bottles had tampering mechanisms. That, with the addition of the security cameras, meant I was certain my bride couldn’t kill me with my own alcohol.

“You didn’t answer my texts!” Iryna accused, following me into the sitting room. “You didn’t take an escort with you.”

I groaned. “Cell service was bad, and for that I’m sorry. But I think you and I know I’m more than capable of being on my own without a bodyguard.”

My sister pursed her lips and didn’t respond. The point of the security measures was a visible display of strength. I was the butcher—death and destruction were my allies. Snapping the lid off the decanter I held, I tipped it over a glass. The delicious sound of liquid glugging into a glass soothed the hackles at the back of my neck.

“You’re working tonight. Should you be drinking?” Iryna clipped in a low voice as she shut the sitting room door.

“Look, it’s one drink.” I spun around and took several deep breaths. “Thank you for worrying. I love that you do, and please don’t ever stop. But please, louloudi mou, don’t smother me.”

“Is that a warning?” Iryna fisted her hands on her hips. Determination flashed bright in her blue eyes.

“Yes. Tread carefully.” I gulped the dark amber liquid and let the smoky flavors burn down my throat.

“Why are you even wasting your time with giving her a chance?” Iryna crossed her arms over her chest.

“Didn’t we get a second chance?” The words were out of my mouth before I could think. And they were so true, I didn’t know how I hadn’t seen it before.
