“Rylan told us years ago to back off,” Taker explained. “She wanted a life without her big brothers hanging around. We always protected her growing up, so we left her alone like she wanted. But I guess we left her too much alone.”

“Yeah, we stopped by and thought we were watching over her from afar, but I guess she made fools of us,” Boss said.

Danny nodded his head at them. “Yeah, I guess she did. She was never home when you guys were parked across the street. I knew you were there and you knew you were there, but she was never there when you came.”

“So you said she hooked up with Crank about two years ago?” Flame asked.

Danny nodded.

The three brothers shared a look.

“Where is your other brother?” Sam asked. “Aren’t there four of you boys?”

Taker nodded.

“Colt is waiting a couple of blocks away in case there’s trouble,” Boss explained.

“Why did you guys come here?” Melora asked. “Why can’t you just leave Danny and Breanna alone? You’ve been chasing him all the way from Chicago.”

Taker frowned and glanced at his two brothers then back to her. “No little lady, we haven’t been chasing him from Chicago. Rylan called us the day before yesterday and told us Danny was running with her daughter and we had to find them and bring Breanna back to her.”

Flame shook his head as he looked angry. “She had us convinced that Danny was in the wrong and all she wanted was Breanna back. She told us he was headed east, so we came east. She called us about two hours ago saying that he was somewhere in Troy. But she said she didn’t know where.”

“And that led you boys to my front door?” Sam growled.

“We saw the bike outside and took a chance,” Taker explained. “We didn’t know this was your house or that Danny was here until you opened the door, Bones.”

Danny stepped closer and winced as the wound on his side pulled. “That means Crank and his boys are here looking for us too.” He looked over at Melora. “Damn girl, we brought them with us.”

“Who are you lady and how do you know Danny?” Boss finally asked.

“She’s mine,” Bones interjected. “And she’s known Danny since she grew up in the foster system in Chicago.”

Flame snorted.

Bones whipped his head around to glare at him. “You got something to say, Flame?”

“Nah brother, I just like your taste in women, that’s all.” Flame smiled.

Sam raised his brows then he growled as he opened his mouth to tell him off.

Just then, someone tapped on the patio door at the back of the house.

Sam pulled his gun out and headed toward the door cautiously.

“Ah, Bones,” Taker called out. “That’s our brother Colt.”

Sam growled as he dropped his weapon and walked to the door. Opening it, he raised his gun back up and growled. “Why the fuck are you coming round the back way?”

Colt stared at the man behind the gun in his face and replied, “Saw some riders with other cuts and wanted to warn my brothers we had company... without the company seeing me, ok?”

Sam stepped back and waved him in.

Colt came in and looked at his brothers then to Danny and finally he saw Melora. “What the fuck is going on here anyway? Who’s this man with a gun and the chick?”

“Did you see who the other riders were?” Taker asked his brother.

“Yeah, I did, that’s why I came in the back way.” Shaking his head he explained, “It’s the fucking Minions. And Rylan was on the back of one of the bikes. What the hell is she doing with the Minions?”
