Chapter 7.

JAYDY.

My belly shook and shuddered, my pussy clenching, as I rode the final wave of my release, but I held onto Nicky through the storm of pleasure as though he was my lifeline. I’d never felt like that during sex before; like my actual soul had connected with another. It made me feel absolutely terrified of letting him go.

When his own tsunami of ecstasy subsided, and he went to roll away, I grabbed hold of him even tighter.

Nicky kissed my temple and whispered as if to reassure me. “I’m too heavy for you.”

I shook my head vehemently. “No. You’re not. Stay. Please.”

He did, but he was also right. Hewasheavy on my chest and my breathing was becoming increasingly labored. I panted a little, working to keep my breaths shallow.

He chuckled and rolled to the side, a smile on his beautiful face.

With a regretful sigh I let him go because he stayed firmly buried inside me and didn’t go too far.

“What are you grinning at?” I pouted. “This isn’t usually me, by the way. All clingy... and stuff.” I certainly wasn’t one to sleep around, but I’d had boyfriends, and my fair share of a few wild nights. But sex hadneverbeen like this.

His smile was sweet as he tenderly tucked the hair behind my ear. “You’re perfect, Jaydy. So, stop overthinking this so much and just enjoy the feeling.”

I nodded and shifted my head to rest more comfortably on one of Nicky’s soft, plush pillows. “Okay, I’ll try.”Such wise words. But I had so many more questions. Like, how old was he really? And how long had he been waiting to find the woman he was destined to marry? How would he possibly know who she was when she appeared? And did hereallythink it was me? Because everything he’d said so far inferred that he thought I was.

That in and of itself felt insane. I’d known Nicky for all of a few hours, so how could he know for sure that I was the one? With that being said, how was it possible I could feel so incredibly close to him after so little time spent in each other’s company?

“Do you have magic?” I asked him cautiously. “Why do I...” I coughed to clear my throat. “I feel...” No. I couldn’t do it. Not yet.

He smiled. “I do have magic, but I’m not a warlock if that’s what you mean. It’s different. But yes, it is a sort of magic.”

I took a breath and tried to work out how I was going to ask this question. “Um... well, it’s just that you said you’ve been looking for your... what do you call the woman you’re meant to marry?”

He raised his head and rested his chin on his hand. “Well, my father used to refer to her as my Mrs. Claus. Sometimes I think of her as being my Fated Love, the same way shifters have Fated Mates.”

“Shifters?” I asked, my eyebrows rising high until my eye muscles felt strained with the effort.

Nicky shrugged his massively hunky shoulders. “There’s lots of fairytales and myths out there that are real, Jaydy. More than most humans, witches, or warlocks know.”

I had so many questions, but I yanked my concentration back to the most pressing matters at hand. “Okay. I’ll leave that for another day. But, back to your Mrs. Claus... thing. Is she a choice you make? Or is it more like... you’ll know her when you see her?”

He glanced away and shifted his body.

I was forced to grip his pelvis hard to keep him inside of me.
