Before I pulled my hand off her mouth, I arched a brow. “Will you please keep it down?”

While she nodded, I hesitated even pulling my hand away. But eventually, I did and hoped that other students in my class didn’t overhear. What would they think? I was twenty-three years old and had just lost my virginity to someone almost twice my age. Maybe older.

“Tell me all about him,” she cheered. “Is he another student?”

“No.”

“What do you m—bitch!”

My cheeks burned with embarrassment. Oh my God.

“It was your professor, wasn’t it?!” she asked, literally almost jumping up and down at my side. She grasped on to my hand, shaking it, because she couldn’t even control herself. How would she react once she finally lost her V-card?!

“Feather, will you—”

She placed the back of her hand on her forehead and closed her eyes. “Give me a second, Sea, before I pass out. My vagina is so wet, thinking about you getting it on with an elderly—”

Although she was causing a scene, I couldn’t stop myself from bursting out into a fit of giggles. “He is not elderly! He is probably, maybe in his mid-forties. And I mean, he’s one of the handsomest men I have met.”

“Oh, girl,” Heather said, fanning herself. “I bet he is. Do you have a picture?”

“Who do you think I am?” I asked. “Some sort of creep?”

“Maybe.”

“Pictures are forbidden in the class,” I said. “So, no.”

She frowned. “Can’t you sneak one?”

“And get punished for it?!” I exclaimed, but then I stopped and thought about it for a minute because I would bet that a punishment from Professor Patton wouldn’t be so bad. Then, I shook my head. “No. No, I can’t.”

“Lame.”

“Heather! Sierra!” the cashier called from the other side of the small building.

Heather looped her arm around mine and tugged me to get our coffees. I grabbed the warm drink, sipped in an attempt to rid myself of the cold, and locked eyes with Luke Carls, my lovely ex-boyfriend who had ditched me two weeks ago.

He leaned against the building next to the window and smirked. “Sierra Monroe.”

Mid-sip, I froze. “What are you doing here?”

After kicking himself off the building, he lifted his coffee cup. “Coffee.”

“You don’t drink coffee.”

“And you’re not usually easy,” he said, sipping his drink and walking over to Heather and me. Heather tugged me closer to her. “At least when we were together, you weren’t. But things change, don’t they?”

“Why don’t you leave?” Heather asked.

“I’m not easy,” I said.

“So, you didn’t just gift your precious little virginity to your professor?” he asked with a smirk. “I might’ve overheard you gushing to Heather, hiding behind the building, about how much of a cheap whore you’ve become in the past two weeks.”

I crossed my arms and ignored him. Or at least, I tried to.

“Ignore him,” Heather said, pulling me along with our coffees.

“Miss Monroe!” someone called from across the street.
