“Were you at Radiant tonight?” I asked stupidly.

“Yes.”

“Do you know … Hector?”

He paused. “Yes. Why? Did he say something to you?”

“N-no,” I said, glancing away. “I just thought that you were Hector.”

Furrowing his brow, he narrowed his eyes. “Explain.”

“My friend is at Radiant tonight, and she said that she is seeing the owner of the club,” I whispered, cheeks reddening. Why the hell was I basically telling him how jealous and possessive I was? “I thought she was talking about you.”

“Hector is my brother,” he said. “Why would you think that?”

“Because …” I want you all to myself.

“Miss Monroe, the polite thing to do is answer my question.”

“Well, maybe I don’t feel like being polite tonight.”

He arched his brow.

I shrugged under his intense gaze. “I thought you only owned the place.”

“It’s a family business,” he said. “I realize it sounds odd for a family to run a sex club together, but we’re all adopted, so it’s not that weird.”

My lips curled into an O, and I swallowed hard, completely embarrassed and hoping that he didn’t continue to push the subject because I honestly didn’t know what I would say. I wanted him all to myself. Badly.

His lips curled into a small smirk. “Were you jealous?”

“No!” I scoffed and crossed my arms. “Of course not.”

“Is that why you’re really at my home?”

“No!”

“Bringing me my favorite snack?”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” I whispered, heart pounding. “I wanted to repay you. That’s all.”

“Well, how about you repay me by grabbing dinner with me then?”

Dinner? I wasn’t expecting dinner!

“Oh, I, um …”

“Have you eaten yet?” he asked.

“Yes,” I lied.

Cue the stomach growl.

He glanced down at my belly, then back up at me. “Are you lying to me?”

“No.”

“Liars get punished,” he murmured. “You do know that, right, Sierra?”
