Myrtle focused on the beat, and when he slowed even more, she let herself begin to feel it. When his tongue touched hers, there was a tingle. The hand on her neck changed its grip in a way that made her toes wiggle. There was a snort of laughter from Denith, so Myrtle ignored him and pressed her hand to Teyval’s shoulder, and she turned her upper body toward him and pressed her breasts to his chest.

The arm around her back pulled her in and squashed her nearly flat. She heard herself moan and ignored it. He tasted like her favourite things, and she couldn’t remember what they were anymore, but they were right here.

She heard the television softly click on, and she smiled. Teyval pulled back and tucked her head against his shoulder.

She relaxed against him, and Denith said, “So, in that chat with Nisha, I found out that if Myrtle likes something, her toes wiggle. The more enthusiastic the wiggling, the more she likes it.”

Byron snorted. “Good to know. It was super cute.”

She sighed and mumbled against Teyval, “All my friends know about it. Do you know how weird it is to be out at a restaurant and everyone burst into laughter because your feet are wiggling? It’s disruptive and annoys other diners.”

Teyval murmured, “Is that what happened at the restaurant when you met Denith?”

She mumbled. “Maybe. All of my friends have foot fetishes, thanks to me. They are way more aware than they should be.”

Denith chuckled. “Now I feel bad for kicking you out of the restaurant.”

“You should, but if Teyval and Byron are happy with how things turned out, no complaints here.” She chuckled. “Expect me to haul friends in for a do-over. We will be on good behaviour if you are.”

Denith said softly, “Agreed.”

Byron asked, “You think your friends will still accept you?”

Myrtle lifted her head, looked at him, at Denith, and then back at Teyval. “They have seen me in weirder situations. This one is going to have perks for them, but they love me even if I am crashed on the couch using single syllables because I finished a book.”

She settled back against Teyval’s neck. “And if not, the others will give them a talking to.”

They made amused sounds. She wondered how long it would be before they realized she wasn’t kidding.

Chapter Four

Myrtle lifted her head a few minutes later and asked, “So, what are your schedules, and do you ever go away on vacations?”

Denith sighed. “No vacations. I take the occasional weekend off.”

She nodded and looked at Byron. “How about you?”

“I own the company but just go to the lake when I want to relax. Dark Elite aren’t very good at taking orders, plus others just like us in command. It’s soothing for them. We are smart, sturdy, and reliable with no volatility.”

She nodded. “Your schedule?”

“Ah, usually days unless there is anything specific that I need to attend to for specific clients. Sometimes, I get requested for folks to have lurking behind them.”

She smiled. “Ever had a client get a crush on you?”

“A few times. It was hard to get them to stop calling, but I did tell him no.” Byron smiled.

“Okay.” She turned her head toward Teyval. “You are up.”

He smiled. “I work when there is a film on that needs my silhouette. I own half of Byron’s company, but I am a silent partner. I don’t have to loom over people anymore.”

Myrtle nodded. “What are you working on now?”

“I am a wild hill monster next week.”

“Prosthetics?” She smiled.”

Byron laughed. “Not necessary.”
