I wished she didn’t bring it up.
I didn’t need to think about that now.
She looked up at me. “I do care for you,” she said. “When we first met and we kissed… I felt… something, something Elinz'ang mistresses always told us to look out for.”

She seemed unsure about how much she should say.
She reached up and pressed her fingers to my lips. “Electricity.”

I had felt it too, shimmering through my body and making my scales stand on end.

My hopes reignited once more.
I didn’t mind sharing Layla with them!
They were family!

I could only wish it did…

Maybe if we kissed now, if she realized it wasn’t something to be afraid of…
