I couldn’t help my hands on her waist, couldn’t help pulling her against my chest and biting softly at her neck until her eyes dropped closed.

“And what are you going to show me that I don’t already know, hm? I’ve lived here for eight years too you know.”

Her eyes flew open. “Yeah, but you haven’t livedhere. You’re an uptown boy, Andrew.” Her lips curved up. “Now go get dressed and make sure to look extra hot for me.”

“Am I allowed to wear a shirt?”

“Definitely no shirt. Maybe no pants either.” She giggled.

“Sounds like we should go back to bed then,” I growled and she scooted out of her bedroom and into the kitchen.

“Go get dressed, loser! We’re going shopping.”

We met outside in twenty minutes and I looped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her into me. The scent of her hair, the warmth of her, I thrilled at it. Maybe it made me a caveman, but I didn’t care.

We looked just like every other couple on a Saturday morning. Out to brunch, seeing friends, going shopping. Except we weren’t a couple, were we? My chest twinged.

“How did you end up in my building anyways?” Her question interrupted my dark thoughts.

“I thought you’d never ask.” I grinned down at her. “Did you think I was stalking you?”

“Yes!” She scooted out from under my arm to glare at me, though she stayed close. “I thought you were messing with me. I guess that makes me really self-centered, doesn’t it?” She made a face.

“Believe me, at one point, if I had thought it would get me even ten percent ahead, I would have.”

“Honestly? Me too.” The open vulnerability on her face had me pulling her against me and kissing her, tangling my hands in her hair and dipping my tongue into her mouth.

“Get a room!” Someone shouted and we broke apart, laughing and gasping.

“I actually learned from Paola that there was availability in your building. I was frantic to move out after the horrible date.” I grimaced at the memory of the awkwardness.

“Oh that makes sense.” She nodded. “I told Paola about my crazy neighbor moving out mid-month and how he was desperate to get a tenant into the space. The guy didn’t want to sell so he bullied the board into letting him rent the apartment. You’re probably the only renter in the whole place. Better make sure no one leaves a dead fish on your doorstep.” She wagged her eyebrows as we rounded the corner into Soho.

I laughed. “I think I can handle it. So I guess I do have Paola to thank for all the hot, hot sex we’ll be having this weekend.”

“Wait, you mean there’s more where that came from?” Her glance told me she was teasing but her dark eyes and her lovely soft mouth had me want to drag her home and prove to her just how much more there could be. I leaned down to her ear. “We’re only getting started.”

“This really is my favorite place,”Margo said around bites of stir fried rice cake.

“You said that about the last place.” I watched her scoop another bite into her mouth and chew happily.

“No, but this time I really mean it.” Her eyes closed in pleasure. We were at a tiny cafe on Elizabeth Street and she was making me eat my third meal of the day.

“You are disturbingly obsessed with food.” I took a bite of my pan-fried porn bun, which was admittedly very good.

“Not all of us can have a six-pack, Andrew. Besides, I need this fuel.” Her face was the picture of ecstasy.

“For what I’m going to do to you later,” I muttered.

“What was that?”

“You heard me.” I met her gaze and I knew desire for her was stark in my eyes. She dipped her tongue out and my groin tightened.

“Do that again,” I breathed, knowing it would make her lips part and her breaths come short.

“Stop distracting me, Andrew.”
