I was preparing to leave for the hospital that day. I was looking through some relationship tips out of curiosity. One in particular talked about what a woman should do to catch a man’s interest. I had never tried dating advice, but my attention was piqued. They mentioned switching things up a little, and that’s exactly what I did. I put on lighter makeup and tried a new scent. But there was a chance that Bruce wouldn’t notice the changes.

Or so I thought.

When I got to the hospital, he was nowhere to be found. One of the nurses told me that he usually sat in one of the waiting areas and spent his time thinking about things. I went to see for myself when I overheard him talking to Becca and Hannah.

“Basically yes,” Becca said. “What kind of women do you like?”

Now, as someone who had no romantic interest, it wasn't my concern what kind of woman Bruce would be interested in. I could have just walked in and interrupted the conversation, but that would have been rude. I chose the more mature version: listening in on their conversation.

“Younger,” Bruce started to answer, “stubborn, intelligent, doesn’t know how to properly control emotions, leader, strong-willed, beautiful hips, and thighs. And among other things, she should be mean as well.”

As soon as he was done speaking, I started to mentally check the hospital's databank to find out who he was referring to. Not because it bothered me or anything. I just wanted to be sure he was a good match for her.

“Oh, that’s a lot,” Hannah said as she mentally replayed everything Bruce had listed.

“I don’t think you will find any one staff member who ticks all those boxes,” Becca stated.

“I don’t think so,” affirmed Hannah. “If you think about it, there’s only one person here who can actually fill all those boxes: Dr. Tabitha Hill.”

Wait a minute...

I made the assessment again. It couldn't have been me. For one thing, I'm not a mean person. I'm as friendly as a caterpillar, and I know how to properly control my emotions. I hardly even yell at my own annoying siblings.

Beautiful hips and thighs? I lowered my gaze and stared at the hem of the dress. It was too long.

If I had known he loves thighs, I would have worn a shorter dress. Wait, what am I even saying?

I was lost in my own thoughts and didn't notice that the conversation was coming to an end. When Bruce saw and complimented me, it made me feel good. Especially how he was able to see everything that had changed.

That wasn't all. There was a look of horror on his face, when I suggested going around the hospital with my thighs exposed. And his refusal to admit anger. For someone so stubborn, he was easier to manipulate than I had thought. In fact, after I told him that I was going to attend to patients and would see him at the end of the day, he started following me.

Bruce

“Why exactly are you following me?” Tabitha asked as I followed closely behind her.

“I have nothing else to do, and you are supposed to teach me how you want me to handle things,” I answered.

“Well I'll be attending to a patient soon,” she explained, tugging on the dress, to reveal more skin.

“Ahem, don't you think that's a little inappropriate?” I asked. “You'll be seeing a patient and all.”

“What do you mean inappropriate?” she smirked. “My patients don't mind seeing a little skin.”

Why that little…

“I mean you can see for yourself,” she said, meaning I should open the door.

There was a woman sitting on the examination table.

“Good morning, Dr. Hill,” greeted a lady in her late thirties, turning her attention to me.

“Good morning, Maria,” Tabitha greeted the lady. “This is Dr. Jericho. He will be assisting me today.”

“That’s your patient?” I asked.

“Exactly,” she replied, then turned to Maria. “What do you think about my thighs?”

“Very beautiful,” the woman remarked.
