I struggled to make out who it was. I also tried to figure out where I was. It was white. And there was no one else in sight.

Did I die?

Die?

“Tabitha?!” I called.

I can remember. We were in the hotel room. Shawn pulled out a gun and he wanted to shoot her.

But I stopped him? Right?

“Ouch,” I grimaced as I touched my chest. The bullet had barely missed a vital spot.

It looked like I couldn’t make it, but Tabitha was going to be safe.

“You really have your mind occupied by this Tabitha girl,” the voice said.

I could recognize it.

“Brian?” I called out.

Out of the void room, someone started to form, and it was my brother when he was fourteen, and I was back to being four-year-old.

Looks like I have really died.

“I'm sorry Brian,” I apologized. “Looks like I died a failure.”

“I wouldn't say you were failure. You created a hospital where children could get treatment they deserved; you taught a hard heart what it was like to love.” He started listing the things I wasn't aware that there had been accomplishments.

“But even with all those things, I couldn't live to see them bear fruit,” I admitted, hanging my head in despair.

“I wouldn't be so sure of that.”

My hand felt warm for some reason, and I could hear the whispers of a loved one. Her voice was beautiful. I could tell they had some sort of authority over my life and many others she had encountered.

She was saying, “Don't leave us alone, Bruce. You promised you wouldn't let me go.”

“Tabitha?” I called. But she couldn't hear me.

I needed to go back.

“Looks like I'm not reuniting with you big brother. Not just yet,” I laughed.

“Take good care of yourself for me.”

I opened my eyes. It was an unfamiliar room. As far as I could tell, I was still in Switzerland. My left arm felt too heavy. I turned to my side and found her sleeping on it.

“Bruce… Bruce….” she called repeatedly in her sleep.

I touch the hair and gently nudged her awake.

“Mm…?” She started to stir. “Isaac, I said I'm not hungry.”

Tabitha wiped the drool away from her mouth, but she was still half-asleep.

“You really needed that sleep, didn't you?” I asked.
