“Christ,” I whispered, still trying not to scream my pleasure out loud. “Sophie, my God.”

Rupert smirked, then pushed me away and worked his magic on her. Slow thrusts became fast as he expertly brought her back to the peak until she was arching her back again and almost hit the glass window beside the couch in her frenzy. But Rupert had her in his arms, locking her arms and hips down while he pumped up with all his might, and seconds later, they both came together, kissing each other’s noises while Sebastian followed suit and spilled all over my chair.

I wrinkled my nose. “I might need to get a new chair.”

“Trust me, man, you’ll be thinking more about the time you fucked her on the desk than the time I came on your chair.”

I still glared at him, but one look at Sophie all spent and soft had me wishing we could go another round. Then I frowned. Sex with her was supposed to quench a lust, not fan it. But it was doing just that. I couldn’t seem to get enough.

And that was just wrong.

I tried to tell myself not to grow too attached or addicted. I tried to tell myself that this arrangement couldn’t last, not when we three men led different lives and would eventually need to have separate love lives. Then there was Sophie, who was probably just looking for a good time until she was ready to move on. At the gist of it all, she was still my friend’s daughter.

And I needed to learn to let her go when she was done with me and all this.

CHAPTER 14

SEBASTIAN

I was on cloud nine and there was only one person to blame for it: Sophie. Her honesty about her wants and feelings was so refreshing, something I didn’t expect after dealing with a dishonest woman in my life, then more women who preferred the mask of white lies to make themselves more appealing for quick trysts. Lately, it was all about artifice and weaving stories to turn people on, even if those stories were exaggerated or even false. Sophie didn’t bother with that, and it was slowly changing my perspective about romance and trusting women again.

“Hey, Rup. We have some supply shortage after a group of tourists came in yesterday and we would like an emergency restock. Can you get us the items today?”

“You’d have to wait in line, bud.” Rupert sounded like he was about to have a bad day, which was the norm for him when he was preoccupied. “I’ve got some orders for a client that got messed up.”

“Perishable or non-perishable? You know we rely on you.”

“Fine, fine, I’ll get it. Just send me the list.” He sighed. “How is she?”

Rupert was still obviously a cynic, but I could tell he was really into her. Heneverasked how the people he slept with were doing. I bit back a grin, trying not to tease him and make him clamp up again.

“She’s doing fine. Working her ass off in the restaurant and keeping to the deal. Now, if you’re talking about sex, we’ve been waiting you out, man. Hurry up and get home early one of these nights. I want to see her all naked and moaning for us again. Christ, I want to fuck that sweet pussy again.”

“You’re a goddamn pervert.”

“Says the person who likes watching. I don’t blame you, though. Sophie’s amazing. In and out of bed.”

“Yeah, well, don’t get too attached. This is a temporary arrangement.”

Yep, the man was definitely still a cynic despite the softening in his voice. Matthew, in the meantime, was the biggest change, as he worked less and spent more time with her. I didn’t mind that at all because my friend needed something to keep his mind off numbers. Hell, he needed a woman more than we did. And I wasn’t opposed to sharing.

Sophie wasn’t, either, if the way she took us three in without batting an eyelash was any indication. I bit back my tongue when my body reacted instantly, latching on to the images of us in bed and in Matthew’s office. Hanging up on Rupert made me feel restless, so I dialed the one number that I knew would help.

“Hey. Where are you?”

As soon as I heard her voice, I was a goner and grinning from ear to ear. “Hello, Miss Beautiful. Why are you asking? Did you miss me?”

She laughed, the sound melodic and husky at the same time. It did things to my system and had me longing to hold her already, even if it was just to cuddle and sleep beside her. I hadn’t talked to her in a while and I missed our conversations. But I also longed for other things, like taking her out on a date where I got to dine her, wine her, and treat her like a queen. I wanted to see her face light up when I brought her up a rooftop while she watched either the stars or some fireworks. Then we could make sweet love right there, where no one would hear us make all kinds of noises.

“I kind of miss you flirting with everyone else but me,” she teased. “It kept me on edge.”

“Oh, so you want to be on edge?” I asked, already hearing the challenge in her tone. “I’ll put you on edge… over and over, baby, until you’re begging for relief. How about that kind of edge?”

The line went silent, but I could tell she was listening from her sharp breathing. Then she growled, the sound so similar to Rupert's that it made me think he was rubbing off on her.

“Stop teasing, Seb.”

“Or what?”
