Page 46 of Kiss To Tempt

I realize my mistake the moment Vanessa’s body tenses in my arms.

I turn toward her, expecting her to say we’re just hooking up or something, but she stays quiet.

Pointing at his abs, Nate tsks, “And have to keep all of this from other people? That doesn’t seem fair.”

“What’s not fair is that you think more than one person would be interested in you,” Mark says, throwing a ball at Nate and hitting him in the head.

Nate grabs the ball and turns around to face Mark, rubbing the back of his head. “Hey, now…”

Shaking my head, I turn around to Vanessa. “You good?”

“Yeah,” she nods, her body slowly relaxing against mine.

“You sure?” I walk us to the end of the pool and lift her onto the edge. Stepping between her legs, I gently cup her cheeks, pushing her wet hair back. “Nate can be annoying sometimes, I’m sure…”

“Quinn.” Vanessa places her hands over mine, a small smile curling her lips. “It’s fine.”

“So, you’re not angry at me any longer for tossing you into the pool?”

Her eyes narrow at me. “That’s not what I said.”

“You dunked me, too,” I reminded her.

“When you were already wet!”

I lean closer, my hands running over her shoulders and down her back all the way until they’re cupping her ass. Dropping my voice so only she can hear me, I whisper, “If I promise to make you wet later, will you forgive me for doing this?”

I pull her to me so she can feel what she’s doing to me. Vanessa’s pupils widen, and color fills her cheeks. Her tongue slides out, running over her lower lip.

“Will you?” I ask, my thumbs slipping under the elastic of her bottoms.

“Hmm?”

“Forgive me?” I repeat, my mouth hovering over hers. “If I promise to make you feel good later tonight?”

“How good?”

“Verygood,” I promise, rolling my hips into hers.

Vanessa sucks in a breath, her teeth sinking into her lower lip.

“Vanessa Dawson!” Kiara yells, breaking us out of our daze. “Stop rubbing against your Boy Toy and come play with us.”

Vanessa lets out a shaky breath, her forehead pressing against my shoulder. “I really hate it when she calls you that.”

“Why?”

Vanessa pulls her head up, her eyes meeting mine. “What do you mean why?”

“Why don’t you like it?”

“You don’t think it’s offensive?”

“Not really,” I shrug. “I kind of like it. Maybe I’ll start calling you a cougar.”

Vanessa blinks, her mouth falling open. “Don’t you dare!”

“Why?” My grin widens as color rises into her cheeks. “I think it’s cute.”
