One by one, they follow my lead, filling me in every crevice, their pounding jerks numbing and exciting me. We are in a pile of legs, arms, sweat, and lust, our sighs and cries rising and falling, gasping for breath.

I remain in my straddled position on top of Connor while Eli backs away and Hudson pulls out from behind me. Hudson pulls blankets out from a cupboard and spreads one on the rug in front of the sofa. Eli walks around and lifts me from Connor, and then lays me on the blanketed floor.

All three of my men lie down with me. I move to lay my head on Connor’s chest, his strong hands splayed over my lower back to rub softly while Hudson and Eli withdraw from me. Hudson pulls more blankets over us, and eventually, I catch my breath enough to sit up and grin at them.

“Well… that was something.”

“That’s one way of putting it.” Connor also sits up, covering himself with one of the throw blankets. He glances at Hudson, an eyebrow arched. “I suppose this is also a good way to learn about one another.”

I look at Hudson, who is still lying down, his hands interlaced behind his head in a relaxed position. I’m not quite sure what to say next. This is better than any scenario I’ve ever conceived in my wildest dreams about them. They are each perfect for me in their own way, and although I know this can’t go on forever, I want this moment with all three of them to last.

I don’t want to think about what will happen eventually—me choosing one of them or ending up with none. Instead, I remain silent, savoring every second while all three of them are mine, for this perfect moment in time.

But my perfect moment comes to an end when Eli speaks. “What happens next?”

“I don’t know about you guys, but that was erotic as fuck,” Connor says, glancing at his friends, then at me.

Hudson sits up. “That was the best sex I’ve ever had.” I nod my head in agreement, but he’s not done talking. “But it’s more than that. I’ve really enjoyed all the time we’ve spent together lately—working together and spending time with everyone.”

My mouth opens in shock. That is the most heartfelt thing I’ve ever heard from Hudson.

“We haven’t spent this much time together since we were kids, honestly,” Eli admits, and I take a spark of pleasure in knowing that I have something to do with reconnecting them.

“I don’t even think we spent this much time together as kids,” Hudson counters with a small laugh.

Connor looks at Hudson. “Well, we had to get through your dad and sister if we wanted you to come out.”

A pang of sadness twinges through me as Hudson’s face shadows.

“Now Jaxon needs permission to go out and play,” Eli quips, and they laugh.

“Jaxon?” I repeat. “Who’s that?”

“That’s my sister’s husband,” Hudson explains.

Eli shakes his head. “To be fair, he was probably a much more personable man before your succubus sister siphoned the life out of him.”

“True,” Hudson agrees. “Did you know that Val had a thing for you, Eli, when we were kids? You could have been the Mr. Valerie Walker.”

“No, thanks,” Eli snickers. “I’d rather be alone.”

I twine my hand in his, and I’m secretly glad I’ve never met this Val, but also sad that Hudson had to grow up in such an unhappy household.

“If we’re all pouring out our feelings here,” Eli says. “This is the first time I’ve been happy since Simone died—these past weeks. Sure, she will always hold a place in my heart, but for the first time, I don’t think about her every day. I can finally see a future with some joy.”

I lean over to kiss him, and he brushes his fingertips across my cheek before he pulls away. Finally, I feel the need to say something, but I’m still nervous that if we try to label this, then it will all end. “I came out here hoping to find a connection with my grandma. I’ve never had a family—a real family, anyway. And I found that with Gran. But what I didn’t expect was to find the three of you.”

I grab Connor’s hand. “Connor, you always have my back, supporting me when I need it the most.” Next, I reach for Hudson. “Hudson, you are my protector. The man who I know I can always count on to keep me safe.” Finally, I look to Eli. “Eli, you make me feel like I am the only person in the world that matters—the one who can bring happiness into your life just as you bring joy into mine.”

Leaving it at that seems best. There’s no need to mention my desire to keep things as they are. Commitment isn’t what I’m seeking from them. It’s important they understand how special each of them is to me, in their own unique ways.

Eli gives a nod, his expression a mix of contemplation and newfound peace, clearly moved by the words yet maintaining his composed demeanor. Connor squeezes my hand in return, a silent gesture of solidarity and understanding, his eyes reflecting a deep sense of respect and unspoken commitment to always be there. Hudson sits a bit taller, offers a protective glance, one that speaks volumes of his steadfast resolve to guard and support, his usual stoic facade softened by a hint of warmth.

Eli stands. “Now we just need to figure out what to do about MVP.”

That is it; the perfect moment is broken.

I lean forward slightly and look at Eli. “So, will you allow me to take your truck tomorrow? I want to be able to get around once I’m in Seattle or I would fly out. Renting a car is an extra expense?—”
