She smiles, a light blush coloring her cheeks. We talk casually as we eat, the conversation flowing easily between us. Eventually, I broach the subject I'm most curious about.

"How was today?"

She takes a sip of her wine and looks away. "It was not what I expected."

"And what did you expect?" I inquire.

"I..." she fumbles for words. I want to urge her on, but I also know that, sometimes, giving people silence is all they need to continue. She does. "I was seeking answers."

"Answers?"

"About my past. My roots."

"So you went home?" I frown, worried about the impact it might have had on her.

"I went home."

"What did you find?"

"That's the thing, nothing," she sighs. "The only link that I have to my roots is my singing. I lied to you the other day. It wasn't my adoptive mom who sang to me. It was my birth mother."

"Oh," I pause, wondering what this means.

"That's all I have of my blood. My voice."

"So, what do you plan to do?"

"Voglio onorarlo." – I want to honor it.

Cautious, I choose my words. "Are you saying you wish to sing again?"

She looks up, radiant as the night sky, and gives me the brightest smile in weeks. "I do."

My heart leaps with joy as Tatiana's words hang in the air. She wants to sing again, to honor her voice, her roots. It's the best news she could have given me. Without thinking, an overwhelming rush of emotions propels me to my feet.

I sweep Tatiana into my arms and twirl her around on the rooftop terrace, laughter flowing from deep within me.

"This is incredible!" I exclaim, my voice filled with genuine happiness. "To see you wanting to embrace your gift once more is an answer to prayer."

Tatiana's laughter mingles with mine as we spin, our bodies moving in perfect harmony. The world disappears around us, leaving only the two of us caught in a moment of celebration.

"I can't believe I get to witness this," I say breathlessly, gazing into her eyes. "You have no idea how much joy your singing brings to my life."

She blushes, a delicate shade of pink gracing her cheeks. "Then I promise to bring you even more," she whispers. Her voice sweet and melodious.

"When do you want to start?" I inquire.

"Is tomorrow too soon?"

"Nothing is too soon. Tomorrow, you shall sing."

The anticipation hangs in the air, our hearts beating in sync. Tomorrow, Tatiana will once again grace the world with her ethereal voice, and I couldn't be more thrilled.

A gentle breeze caresses our skin, carrying with it the scent of blooming flowers from the vineyard below. The candles flicker, mirroring the flicker of emotions dancing in our souls. Without hesitation, I lean closer to Tatiana, my pulse racing with a need for her.

"May I?" I ask softly, my breath mingling with hers.

She nods, her eyes shimmering with a mix of nervous energy and vulnerability. We lean in closer, our lips only inches apart. Time slows down as if surrendering to this moment—a moment that holds the promise of a new beginning.
