Axel laughs and Blaire ends the call, shaking her head in exasperation. “Why do you get him riled up?”

He kisses her nose. “Because it’s so easy, Bear.”

She simply rolls her eyes at him.

Amanda asks, “How often does he do that with your brother?”

Blaire deadpans, “Daily.”

Axel and I chuckle. He’s such a character.

Amanda says, “I love the sibling relationship.” I know she wishes she gave Jade a sibling. I feel the same for Andie.

After chatting a bit in the limo, we arrive at the jazz club. I hit the limo intercom. “Nico, check for paps.”

I may not garner attention from the paparazzi anymore, but Axel certainly does.

“Yes, sir.”

A few moments later, there’s a tap on the window and we hear Nico say, “The coast is clear.”

We make our way inside where I see the longtime hostess, Sabrina. She smiles when she notices me. “Mr. Windsor, I didn’t know you were coming in.”

“Hello, Sabrina. I forgot to call ahead. Can you do me a favor and get us my regular table?” She’s never failed me on that front.

She scrunches her nose. “Mr. and Mrs. Knight are sitting there now. It’s his favorite table too.”

“Is anyone with them?” It’s a huge, circular booth big enough for all of us.

She has a concerned look on her face. “No, but they…umm…like theirprivacy.”

I let out a laugh. “I bet they do. We’ll go say hello and see how it goes.”

The four of us walk over to the best table in the house. Jackson’s face is buried in Darian’s neck and her eyes are closed. I clear my throat. “Get a room, you two. And get out of my booth.”

Jackson removes his head from her neck, looks upat me, and laughs. “It’s not your booth tonight, Windsor.” He motions his hand. “Join us.”

I look at Darian and she nods in agreement. Her eyes light up when they move to my hand, which is holding Amanda’s. “Amanda? It’s good to see you. Are you two an item?”

I can see Amanda struggling with how to answer. Being deceitful is against her grain. I shake my head. “We’re just good friends.”

Darian’s eyes then find the Broxtons. “Holy shit. Axel Broxton?”

Amanda innocently asks, “Oh, do you know Axel and Blaire?”

Darian looks equally shocked and appalled. “Axel is the best tight end in professional football. He caught one hundred and ten passes last year for over fifteen hundred yards. He scored fourteen touchdowns. Of course I know Axel Broxton. Who wouldn’t?”

Amanda looks at Axel and he simply shrugs at her. “It should have been fifteen touchdowns, but I got a bullshit call.”

He then turns to Darian. “Tell me more about you thinking I’m the best tight end. Do you think I’m better than Travis Kelce?”

Darian nods. “Hell yes.”

“Am I hotter?”

Darian smiles. “Now that I’ve seen you in person, absolutely.”

He raises an eyebrow at Blaire. “I told you. People think I’m hotter.” He turns back to the table. “My wife keeps telling me I’m the second hottest tight end in football.”
