I nod down toward it. “Food and lip biting do it for you?”
In a deep voice, he says, “Youdo it for me.”
I run my hands up his chest. “You can be very sweet when you want to be.”
He wraps his arms around me, pulls my naked body flush to his, and rubs his lips across mine. “Full disclosure, my intentions for our time in Italy are less than sweet.”
I smile into his mouth. I can’t deny that it sounds good to me.
The voices of Andie and Glinda in the kitchen remind us of where we are and who is in the next room. He sighs. “No distractions for five days. No interruptions. You and me, alone, making up for too much lost time.”
“You, me, and Nico?”
“Nico knows how to be invisible.” He kisses me as his thumb brushes across my nipple. He whispers, “Please say yes.”
He bends his head and sucks my nipple into his mouth. This man wreaks havoc on my body and mind.
With my nipple still in his mouth, he looks up and gives me his best pleading eyes.
I take a deep breath in resignation and then nod.
His entire face lights up as he easily stands with me still wrapped around him. God I love how strong he is.
“Great. I’ll set everything up.”
Thirty minutesand a pleasure-filled shower later, we enter the kitchen fully clothed. Andie runs into Beckett’s waiting arms. “Daddy, I missed you.”
He rubs his nose on hers. “I missed you too. Did you have fun with Gigi in New York?”
“Yes! The show was really good, and we went for pancakes at Flippers.”
“Ooh, lucky girl. Those are the best pancakes in the world.”
“They are, and they had lots of cherries and whipped cream. It’s a good thing, because Gigi said you ate all of ours.”
He nods as he looks at me. “I sure did. Best cherries I’ve ever had.”
I see Glinda smile and I jokingly hip check her. I mumble, “You’re nosey, old lady.”
She giggles. “I’m just happy you’ve finally seen the light. It’s about time you gave in to what we both know you wanted.”
“You knew this whole time we weren’t really together?”
“I may be getting old, but I’m not blind. I know my son. He’s clearly been smitten, and you’ve kept him at arm’s length for whatever reasons. I don’t need to know, but I’m glad it’s finally changed.”
“Idocare about him. I hope you know that.”
She rubs my arm. “I know you do, sweetie. That’s why I’m such a fan of your budding relationship.”
“He invited me to go to Italy with him.”
She looks giddy with excitement. “And?”
“I think I’m going to go.”
She smiles and then hugs me. “I’m so happy to hear it. You’ll have the best time. Have you ever been?”
I shake my head. “I’ve never left the country. I’m lucky Jade forced me to get a passport just in case.”
